Great thread!
CCDollar, that's a great coin. My kind of thing -- probably not super expensive in the scheme of things, but a visually a real standout for the grade.
And Ironmanl63, that 1866 is just wonderful.

This is the famous U over S variety, as clearly seen on the reverse in the second U of PLURIBUS. A fun variety that is very difficult to get in high grade with attractive surfaces. Ive always loved the "woodgrain" toning on this piece.
A perfect design for us coin collectors. Made by Lovett for John Curtis. There are many mules, but this is the storecard version.

Ironman,
I owned that lovely half cent for a few years - here is my image below, a real gorgeous one that will be hard to find an equal of in this grade.
Best, SH
Robec, I see you one gorgeous 1912 and raise you one similarly pretty 1912....

SH,
Very cool! I think I like your photos better than mine. I am just learning how to take quality photos. What did you use for a light source?

Digital SLR camera, copy stand, macro lens. Then whatever type of light you want to use. Buy Mark Goodman's book 'Numismatic Photography', this will get you alot of info from one of the very best coin photographers.
