2004 dated washington DC quarter ???? scans added

I have a silver proof quarter dated 2004 with the capitol and Washington monument on it.

Its stamped COPY on the top of George's head. I tried searching on here and ebay and nothing comes up in either place.


Anyone know what this is? On the scale it appears to weigh 6.5 grams .


It came to me as part of collection I purchased from someone 3 years ago. Included in the collection ,there was a lot of littleton coin packaged items , this however was not in a package other than the plastic capsule the coin is in now.

Some sort of modern souvenir I suppose.
At least it complies with the Hobby Protection Act, marked as a COPY.

I agree with the 'souvenir' idea... with the word 'copy' imprinted, it is just a novelty coin.
