Metals drop, runs to ebay to return a non-returnable item, claims ordered in error. Feedback shows he continues to buy bullion. Playing the market at seller's shipping expense. Blocked.

People like him who try to game the system need to be told that they're one of the reasons that selling on eBay sucks.

    Sucks.

I dislike people that do that crap.

That said, with all the different IDs/people on ebay, I wonder how many are actually impacted by the "I'll block him TOO" blocks?

Maybe if a couple of people sell stuff that is really specialized, they might have the same bidder, but, in general, with all the stuff out there on ebay, how many screw someone over, get blocked by a couple of dozen folks, and ever realize they are blocked by those folks?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    I sell coins on Ebay.

I only sell gold coins on the BST forum for this very reason.

I think that the drop in metals is why I have a non-paying bidder as well.

Do I simply let the NPB mechanism run its course and ding him for NPB? Yes!

Years ago I bought a couple of Krugerands on eBay.

The guy was running his own futures market, selling on the rises and buying and shipping on the dips.

When the market turned against him, he made the only logical move - and returned to his native Brazil with $300,000

The Postal Inspector handling the case assured us that he would be arrested if he ever tried to return to the US.

$300k in Brazil could last a lifetime.

his feedback left for others indicates I'm not the only one he played the market with:

Only if the item is not as described. Otherwise, items in the PM category are not subjected to the eBay return policy.

Bullion seller can elect to offer return option. Most don't because bullion is exempt from ebay's required return policy to obtain top seller discount. The listing will indicate if returns are excepted and you might get a seller that accepts returns on bullion.

Ebay requires a return policy in most all other categories to earn the top rated seller additional 20% off of FV fees.
