Does the Doug DeCinces drive you nuts?
At first it did, but I have gotten used to it. When you collect team sets, you run into all kinds of things like that. Take a look at my 1966 Topps set for instance. Alex Johnson is in a Phillies uniform and a Phillies team logo, but the trade line on the back says that he was recently traded to the Cardinals....so....I had to include it!
Note: For the #220 McGwire Home Run card (#1-70), I chose to include #67 and #68. The reason being is because my wife and I were actually at the game in 1998. We saw him hit #67 and #68. We thought that would be the record. Turns out, he hit 2 more the next day. One day I hope to get the entire set, but for now, #67 and #68 is just fine.
Edited to say - I now have the entire #220 HR subset with home runs number 1-70. Pictures are below.
For now, I am going to keep the original picture, note it as such, and then insert the new pictures.
Original picture (Only had HR #67 & 68).
Updated pictures (The logic behind my placement in the album pages is that I am treating HR #1 as the main card, and #2 - #70 as variations. I always put variations at the end of the main team set.)
Note: You will notice a rare SP in my 2009 team set. Not many were made. If you look next to Tony LaRussa, you will see card #661, which is my son, Andrew Hardie. He was 9 years old at the time and I had a Topps card made for him. I included it in my official team set. This one is the most valuable to me.
As a side note....last night I won a complete set of 1999 Topps McGwire Home Run cards 1-70 (#220 in the set). Since I started this project, I have only had #67 and #68. I would have been satisfied with only 1 of them, but my wife and I witnessed number 67 and 68 in person. So, I settle for those 2. The missing cards have been bugging me for a while, so I decided to break down and get the whole set. When I receive them in the mail, I will post.

Angels uniform and logo on the 1988 Topps. It says "Now With Cardinals".

Based on card design only, I think 1983 popped off the page big time.
The color mix on the 1975 set was atrocious. Makes me wonder why that set is so darned popular.
The cards from 1995 on reek "corporate."
Gotta give Topps props for trying something different in 2016, though. Those cards look great.
Terrific compilation, Shane!
Thanks for the compliments.
