Pcgs plus and cac

GazesGazes Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have heard people say a 50% Cac approval rate on pcgs submissions isn't bad. Does anyone have any idea on the CAC approval of pcgs plus coins ? I would think it would be fairly high since cac is using the same standard regardless of whether the coin is graded as plus or not.

cac doesn't consider the + on a grade, so there's no way to tell unless you personally know of a + coin that didn't cac.

Interestingly every + graded coin I've sent to CAC (all were PCGS graded) failed to sticker.

I remember being in the CAC office when + grading was first introduced and a famous rarity coin which was graded pcgs ms65+ was sticker rejected.

The person who brought in the coin questioned john why he did not sticker the coin and john responded that he actually used to own the coin when it was an ms64 and felt the coin was only mediocre for the grade then.

Add another grade and a + and for sure no sticker
may the fonz be with you...always...

What if it was in a MS64 holder?

Probably in the minority here but I don't care if a coin has a CAC when buying/bidding on it.

It's nice, if you like stickers. If it's a coin that makes me happy in hand is all that counts.

I've found plus graded coins to be what we use to call PQ, but now they cost more image

Nope, no sticker as a 64

Stickers, +'s, and any future embellishments (i.e. decimals) are meaningless to me.

I collect coins...coins that I like...some are in slabs, some are raw....

OK... perhaps I am a bit old fashioned...and definitely NOT in the business of selling

coins. So I can simply enjoy the hobby.... Cheers, RickO

And every + coin I've sent has gotten a sticker.
    When in doubt, don't.

i am willing to take the pepsi challenge with some 64's i have seen, on eye appeal and price. i have seen two pc64's (that did not have stickers) that i would not trade my coin for!

of the extant pops of 64's and 63's...i bet that only those with stickers are better than this example (and cost twice as much!)

I have a Lincoln Commemorative half in ms65+ that did not sticker at CAC. It was dipped at some point and now is mostly white with some peripheral rainbow album toning. My guess is they didn't like the toning

50% ??? Wow that's great considering their claims that it is a lost less on average.
