Don't recall if I ever posted this toned Peace Dollar for your input

Do you think she'll straight grade at PCGS (not that concerned about what grade, but does the color look legit to you)? The coin has nice luster in hand, not muted. Coin is currently in an ANACS MS63 holder...

I would be very surprised if this came back graded.

Yes, I think it would grade. Try it!

I like it a lot. Id keep it in the current slab.

I think that the dark brown corrosion? on the reverse will prevent it from grading.

I like it a lot. I was "this" close to buying it from you on eBay last week.

I think it will grade and looks 64 to me.

Looks like it toned in a PCI holder before going into a ANACS.

Might be in the ANACS holder now as it was already tried and wouldn't make it into any other?

I agree with your observation, it definitely has that look. Depending on the age, it actually could have toned in the ANACS holder. I have seen coins like that in the early generation small white slabs with the two letter prefix in the cert number.

It will probably cross. Im not sure about the rim ding at 1pm on the obverse though. It make take more than one trip to PCGS. But overall its okay. I dont think it deserves a premium about 3-4x sheet though. Its $150-$200 coin IMHO.

The color looks natural in my opinion. The question is how much will people like it. To me it's okay.

When I was a dealer I handled a 1921 Peace Dollar that looked similar to this. A couple of dealer told it was ugly, and I'd never get my money out of it. It sold, and I didn't have to wait that long.

Unattractive toning pattern. Ultra-common date. Nothing special MS grade. Just leave it as it is. Don't waste money on trying to have another TPG slab it.

I've had toned coins in ANACS holders that I cracked out and got back as Questionable from PCGS.
I'd say it is natural, but it might also come back as Environmental Damage.

I like it, but its not a look I'm actively pursuing.

It looks like possible PVC near the I and E on obverse. If it were mine, I would soak in acetone, roll an acetone cotton swab (with wood handle) over the entire coin. I would continue until process comes back clean on cotton tip.

I do not feel the ANACS MS63 holders adds much to the coins value now.

no opinion here. its wouldnt be for me

I'm sorry, but I don't care for the toning on this Peace dollar. The reverse looks like it's reacting with some sort of acid. There seems to be some damage on the obverse near the 'T' in Liberty, maybe a continuation of the rim ding there. My opinion, that's why there is vanilla and chocolate ice cream.

I'm not a great fan, but common date mid-MS Peace dollars with color less attractive than that still bring strong money in the right slab ... for me I think it would depend on what I had into it already. Might be worth the gamble, if you got in right to begin with. If you're keeping the coin, just leave it alone. That's my .02

I think it's Awesome! I would try and cross at any grade just for the TrueView image

Should / could upgrade to PCGS by at least 1 grading point.

I won't further waste my money on this coin. I would leave it as is.
