This would be my favorite purchase of 2015... ex-NGC AU55, representing an addition to the early HE part of my collection. I thought I would have a great addition to my Charlotte HE team in 2015, but the coin missed the mark in meeting expectations. Perhaps in 2016?
Probably my most interesting buy of 2015, thanks to CRO:
Weiss, that is an awesome looking trade dollar! I have looked at a bunch but none have that wonderful color yours has. Congrats! Nice that CRO helped you with it too!
I'll say it again - wow-wow-wow! Love the quality of the coins being posted, each and every one!!
The one I would most like to see in person is the GB T$1!
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose, Cardinal.
My favorite purchase of 2015 was the Apollo 12 Flight Plan, in essence the Log for the Second Manned Landing on the Moon.
That is incredible!
Wow! I would love to leaf through it..........
Thank you guys for your kind comments. For those of you that might be interested, if you have not seen it before, I posted info about, and pictures from, the Apollo 12 Flight Plan (and a signed 1969 $1 star bill) in this thread:
Perhaps not the most valuable piece in the collection, but the only known example of the Libertas Americana medal with an ornate corded rim!
I have some info on this corded border Libertas and have a similarly corded border Anthony Wayne medal. In rather corroded shape There was an article in the MCA Advisory regarding the corded border Wayne medal.
