The "joined" date only goes back to the major board revision from late February, 2001. Prior to that date we used an extremely slow, no bells-and-whistles board and then had a few days to all migrate to the then-new board. During the migration we lost all of our posting history and could choose to re-register with our previous board names or to choose new names. Most chose to stick with their previous board names, but not all did (as an example, kokimoki became BRdude). The two boards were not linked on a database and after a while PCGS stopped supporting (as far as I know) an archive of the older boards. Therefore, no "joined" date will be earlier than late February, 2001 even if a member was registered and active in the 1990s.
Thanks for the cool history.
Since 2007 for me. Has added tremendously to my enjoyment of the hobby.
I clicked on 15+, but it has only been 13 when I went and checked. Sorry
PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows. I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.
Came to collectorsuniverse.com back boards in 1996 or 1997 but spent more of my time on ebay.com coin boards as it was much more stable at the time while popping in to the collectorsuniverse.com boards at least once a month.
I used the same user name back then.
When PCGS took over and made the huge conversion in 2001 it took me quite a few months to figure out how to re-log in onto the new boards.
Why would anybody want to vote more than once?? I am going on 2 years but don't need to vote again as I already have voted. Some folks need to get a grip!!

I stumbled onto the PCGS Forums by accident, I think in late 2000, just
when they were on hiatus changing from the old boards to the new.
Once the new boards started I monitored it every day, 6 to 8 hours a day
to get a feel for how it functioned. I was retired and needed something to
occupy my time.
The early discussions were a bit slow and sometimes taken over by flame wars
so I continued to monitor for about 6 more years before signing up.
It has become a second home & I have missed those that left, been banned, or
died. Even when it evolved into a dealers discussion group and an E-bay
regulatory agency, there are times when some good discussions occur about
coins. All in all it has been a wonderful ride!
