goldengolden Posts: 9,960 ✭✭✭✭✭
I getting excited about the FUN show. It will soon be upon us. I have made hotel reservations and am daily checking the Heritage site for the sale. I already see 2 coins that I will go after, 2 more that I want to see in hand and 2 more that I am waiting for pictures to appear. I have not been interested in that many lots for over 10 years.image

I have only missed 2 Fun shows since 1973. Who is going? image

I'm going and I agree with Georgiacop....I am so used to Orlando! The big downside will be the next year in Ft. Lauderdale. If I wouldn't loose my table spot I probably wouldn't go!

I must say the other time the show was in Tampa it was very strong. Definitely not any deals on hotels like the 1st Tampa show. Staying at the airport here. image

Parking at the convention center could not get any easier for me. Not sure what problems you might be referring to. For the money you spend on parking, you even get covered parking. You don't get that when FUN is in Orlando. All cities have their nuances but I don't see how Tampa is worse than Orlando in this situation.

Since I am local, I will just drive the few minutes to the show on Thursday and Friday.

Looking forward to warmer and dry weather and longer days!

Prefer Orlando for the golf but will do OK in Tampa. image

I'll be there. Hoping it's not biker gang week like last time it was in Tampa. Staying at a Residence Inn near the airport and renting a car. It was cheaper than staying downtown as of when I booked my hotel in October.

I'm just one state north and I've never been. Something has always chunked a wrench in my plans. Plus it being right after Christmas, all of my coin buying money is long gone.

I can't wait...but a bit sad that it is not in Orlando. I don't know squat about Tampa and always enjoy my familiarity with Orlando.

Now that the festivities of the holidays are over it is time to focus on one of the two best shows of the year! It is now only 5 days until the FUN show starts. The temperatures are to be in the upper 70's and the action on the bourse floor is also expected to be hot. I am ready to start the new year off right! image

Christmas Day it was 86 Degrees! New Years Eve it was 82 Degrees. New Years Day it was 80 Degrees.

Wednesday a high of 72 and Thursday is supposed to be 75! This harsh winter is tough to handle here.

I will be there on Wednesday to do some lot viewing in the afternoon for fun. If anyone wants to

say hi or meet up, just let me know. I will be there Wed-Sat. image

I cannot make it to FUN. A good friend of mine is going to the show on Friday and would like to attend the luncheon but he did not register for the collectors club in time.

Does anyone have an extra invitation for a guest that can not make it?

    That would be totally cool!!

    Thanks!!

I was over there just this afternoon to put my exhibit coins in security. The area is even nicer than it was four years ago with the expanded River Walk and nice outdoor bar that could be fun, weather permitting. It's cooled down here a bit, but it's still supposed to be in the 70s during the day and mostly dry until Sunday.
