What is your favorite U.S. circulated coin design? (excludes varieties)

What is your favorite U.S. circulated coin design? (excludes varieties, excludes gold)

It's possible I misidentified something or left out a major design. Sorry. Just vote based on the choices given. Thanks.
I love the 3 P's: PB&J, PBR and PCGS.

I find this design hard to beat. It dates back to when I was YN in the 1960s

The Type I Buffalo Nickel gets my vote. Second would be the the Type I Standing Liberty Quarter. Third would be the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.

    Fully struck versions only!

Mine was a toss up between the Buffalo and the Morgan. I voted "Morgan Silver Dollar". I love it's size and the Eagle spreading it's wings.

I went with the Walking Liberty Half. Good enough to be reused almost 40 years after its last striking.

Kind of surprised that two of the most popular collected coins, the Lincoln cent and Morgan dollar, have low vote counts - 0 and 1 respectively.

After several decades of collecting many different series, I still think the Buffalo Nickel is the all-time best design.

Hey you forgot 20 cent pieces!!! You forgot Henning Nickels too! I know that's odd but they have a much more interesting circulation story than Mint issues.

No I didn't. It's in the "Liberty Seated Half Dime, Dime, Twenty Cent, Quarter, Half & Dollar" category.

Hands down the Flying Eagle cent - too bad the Gobrecht $1 didn't circulate or that would have been my 1st choice!

It pleases me to see that the Mercury Dime is in the top 5 so far. I always thought it was.

Although, if a few gold coins were included in the poll, I could see it falling into the top 10 realm.

There are certainly circulated examples in slabs. I believe in the PR40 realm and maybe even lower.

WoW! This is strange to me. Thus far, that the Sacagewea Dollar (I know I butchered the spelling) has the same amount of votes as does the Morgan Dollar? Com'on.image

Draped Bust coinage. Robert Scot's knowledge and experience in engraving classic drapery illustrations, as was previously sculpted on ancient Greek and Roman figures, enabled a great design that influenced US coinage designs for years to come.

The irony struck me only after voting that my choice (SLQ) is one of the few series of 20th century US coins that I have never actively collected.

    Sean Reynolds

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

I do wonder how much of our answers are influenced by other factors, even subconsciously. I selected draped bust, but part of that could be just that it is old and historical even if I tell myself that is not a factor.

    1) Mercury Dimes

    2) Indian Head $2.5

    3) Morgan Dollars
