I was flushing out my collection on ebay and came across this Buffalo Nickel. I got this from off BST several years ago. It started off in a NGC holder but failed to cross due to toning. I may submit it with a few others...
It looks questionable to me, but a 38-D in 66 is still only a $60 coin and this toning isn't going to bring much of a premium. Still a neat coin though.
I agree with everything said so far - color is slightly off and really nice ones can be found already slabbed for not much more than you would spend getting this one attributed.
I don't like the color, either. If you want a slabbed, toned 38-D Buffalo, it shouldn't take long to find one and sell this one. You'll come out way ahead.
I ask about the colors because many will feel them to be QC or AT but the 38-D can have the pink colors. Buffs like yours are what I look for as they are a bit different but still grade.
