This may be tacky, but...

Which one of the coins in my Registry Set (sig line) do you like the most?

One reason I ask is because most of them are very different than the coins you usually see on here.

Tough to say. I might say the Pine Tree or the Fugio but with the slight

edge to the Pine Tree. image

They're all outstanding, but I'll go with the Pine Tree Shilling (wow, high grade, pretty color, Eliasberg, OGH and Gold CAC!!!) with a secondary nod to the Daalder.

    Elizabeth Pine Tree #1.

(Edit- NO, friggin' autocorrect! Stop that! I typed ELIASBERG, not "Elizabeth"!) image

    Louis d'or #2.

    Pillar dollar #3.

All "wow" stuff; most if not all of which is way above my league.

They are very nice and fit well into the topic of the collection.

Kind of like asking a parent to choose a favorite child. I'll

pick the Brazilian piece, I have the same type but 15-20

grading points lower. Keep us posted on future additions.

Holy crap- I just saw that Fugio, and wow!

But I stick to my earlier lineup. Maybe put the Fugio #3 and Pillar dollar #4.

I like the Louis... just because.

Yeah, gold has a lot to do with it, maybe.

The Pine Tree Shilling followed by the Fugio. I don't know much about the other coins. And no, not tacky to get opinions from the minions.

I am not familiar with the majority of this set, but that Fugio is a really nice piece!

Sorry to say since the set is mostly comprised of foreign coinage that circulated in this country the Fugio Cent & Pine Tree Shilling look out of place image

The Eliasberg piece I like but I don't collect strict colonials.

But that 960 Reid is a scarce piece in that grade ......very few 960 Reid in true 65 ! ????

I really like the Lion Daalder, great surfaces and a really superior strike for one of those. Of course everything in the set is outstanding!

    Thanks everyone!

I posted this thread expecting that most would choose the Pine Tree Shilling or Fugio because those are familiar Red Book coins. I wondered how often and by whom any of the other coins would be chosen.

I hope that some were at least intrigued by the other coins. All have a real connection to early America.

Tough to choose but I really like the look of the 1749 10 St Silver. Good stuff!

That's like asking me, "hey, which Victoria's Secret model do you like the best?" They are all beautiful coins, although I would likely hit the Fugio first.

This is exactly how I feel about them!

I don't have a favorite; I love them all. I think that's a pretty good goal to have for any collection: love every coin equally.

    Thanks again everyone! image
