    Pepperdoodles.

Had great cameos and was always entertaining (especially here).

The ones where I got great coins at great prices from.

Looking at my favorite sellers list, I see a number that are no longer active.

Blue Moon was always good for a chuckle. Are puffy shirt guy, studious headache guy, and the "moonettes" still around?

there are a few that I could mention but the one that stands out is THR ... and a few other names they went by. they had no idea what they were selling, and the pictures were bad, a buyer could use that to his or her advantage with a few minutes and a large flat screen monitor

There was one guy back in the very early days or eBay, 1998/99, who back then was one of the only people selling correctly attributed error and variety coins, his name was Peter (I can't remember his last name) and he was from Arizona. There are a coule of others who still sell there but who no longer have the same breadth of offerings.

+1. I used to buy some great exonumia from him.

I miss ultramike from Manteca, CA. too. He sent me a uber nice 1879-CC Morgan one time on approval, and like a damn fool I didn't buy it.

jfranklin (John Franklin) was another great seller who is no longer registered.

I found it very disturbing to note from my FB history the high number of sellers who are no longer registered. But in retrospect, it should be no surprise. eBay is slowly and doggedly diminishing their seller base with their constant policy revisions.

Sean - I believe you're thinking of Peter Bilan, from New Mexico. He still sells on eBay occasionally under his same ID of "pbilan". Yeah, I bought tons of varieties off of him back in the day. Good guy and a great blast from the past!

  • Dang a look back through feedback and a BUNCH of those early user id's have been replaced with a super long string of numbers. It appears my favorites have been turned into ashley accounts so can't even respond. It's odd though because some still show the familiar user id even though not registered any longer.
