JFK Dollars.
Rest assured, there won't be a fiasco with this one. Or will there be ?
The presidential small dollar series just moves along, quietly.
I'm looking forward to completing this set (series) in the album. Just sayin'

It just doesn't look like him, is all.

It didn't blind me, but it made me spew what I was drinking through my nose. Some of those are just plain FUNNY. Too bad I wasn't reading the comics.

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
And no I don't care for it that much, but it's not the only one.

Wow, out of five designs, ONE vaguely resembled JFK and another one sort of looked like Jack crossed with Bobby.
Didn't recognize any of the other three gentlemen...

Jackie Bug Eyes.
No thanks and quite frankly, I think the US Mint should be embarrassed aver this particular presentation.
In the proof set, the Kennedy Stands out because its the only one looking down. Ugh!
The name is LEE!
Not such a bad thing, IMHO.
I'm not saying I love it, but I don't hate it, either.
Of course, I'll have to have a few to complete the sets for the grandchildren. Oh well.
Looking for CU $1 FRN 20160523 - any series or block. Please PM

<< <i>Terrible image of JFK, who OK'd that... seriously? >>
Agreed!
<< <i>In case anyone is interested, here are the original design options for the JFK dollar.
>>
I wasn't around when he was president, but from the photos and videos I've seen of him, I would not know by looking at any of those sketches that it's JFK, however one sort of looks like his brother Bobby and another like Reagan.
This Presidential Dollar series just does not meet expectations. FDR looked bad... so does JFK. The comment about these looking like tokens from a gas station unfortunately is spot on.
Seriously... what happened to the art of creating decent portraits for coins and medals?
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
<< <i>You would think the great Mint could make their coins look better than a gas station token given away with each fill up. >>
so true.....

<< <i>Well, I'll be a contrarian and say I don't mind the portrait, much. The pensive, somewhat-downcast image of him is... well... different. >>
+1

...Excellent question.
<< <i>Despite his disability, JFK... >>
What disability?
I had planned to get a $250 Box of those , to spend on Coffee, but after a bit of thought, maybe not.
Maybe I'll get the LBJ Coin, that one looks like the old man on that Pawn Stars show.
To me it's the best of the available options
Where's the sights?

he had a really bad back and was required to wear a back brace.
<< <i>Absolutely horrible! Doesn't look a thing like him. >>
Agree. They appear to have taken every identifiable "caricature" feature, and put it on a coin.
The US Mint Designers and sculptors need to put a can of RAID into the operating system they're using to create this crap. Get back to the plaster molds you lazy schleps.
The name is LEE!
None of those portraits do JFK justice.
I knew it would happen.

"Different"? It appears to have been modeled after his official White House Portrait...................in a cartoony sort of way.

It was common knowledge that his back was injured during WW2 when a Japanese destroyer rammed his boat, PT-109, and cut it in half. He never fully recovered from the war wound.
