What a shame...

That there are no proof strikes of the Standing Liberty Quarter. Oh, but wait! Take a look here:

1916 Proof Fantasy

Part Two

Perhaps 100 times overpriced? But who knows...

Also it would have been nice to have Peace Dollar proofs considering those soft strikes. Yeah I now there's a few 1921 and 22s out there but who's got half a million bux to spare.

A fantasy item that is blown WAY out of proportion. ANACS should not have slabbed this thing. It is way over priced and deceptive for beginning collectors. The good part is that most beginning collectors don't spend over 10 grand on a coin.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Thanks for posting as I hadn't seen these but have held the original plaster on two occasions.

Shame as these are really close design wise but a but somewhat tacky when compared to the plaster.

Oh and by the way there are 1916 pattern SLQ proof strikes known without the dolphins.

Might grow on me if I got one as a gift but don't think I'd spend $100-200 on one.

Looks like it might be Patrick Mint creation?

    $10.5K? $14.5K? WTF? image

    That's not even platinum?

Oh, wait... even if it WERE platinum, it wouldn't be worth that much.

It must be made of unobtanium. image

But yeah, proofs of the SLQ and Peace dollars would've been nice.

I'm guessing that whomever made these probably sold them at less than $100 each.
They are not a very good quality replication of the original MacNeil sculpt.
The eBay listing price is ridiculous, of course.

There's also a lot of 4 up at $99.99, a single at $109, and another single for $230 OBO.
