If over the past couple of years someone had started a "If you could add one card to your collection thread...," I was ready to pounce. The 86 Panini Supersport Seve Ballesteros PSA 10 is a card (sticker) I have ruminated about many times over. I have often wondered where in the world (literally) it is. Then, it happened. Scott (scooter729) unleashed some multi-sport goodness over on B/S/T, and I damn near soiled myself at work when I saw not only the 10 listed, but also a 6 and his one and only PSA-graded foil combo card with Piquet as well. Of those two particular cards, a grand total of four have been graded and three of them are firmly entrenched in my golf collection as of today. This hobby doesn't often provide me a truly surreal feeling, but this is definitely one of those days. A tremendous shout-out to Scott for not only unearthing these, but more importantly for providing one of the smoothest transactions I've been a part of since joining these boards.
Seve was undoubtedly my favorite golfer growing up. Probably the best set of short-game skills the sport has ever seen. He often uncorked wayward drives (look at where he's standing in the 204s below), but he'd typically meet his fellow competitors at the hole in fewer strokes, courtesy of his wizardry around the greens. In yet another example of just how fragile life is, he succumbed to a brain tumor back in 2011 at age 54.
So many sick cards in this thread -- looking forward to May!
Doug Keating does a great job running a regular show in Mansfield, MA. It's where I had the thrill of meeting Gino Cappelletti and he's had quite a lineup of autograph guests. I wasn't able to make the April 19th show, but mailed in this card for the signing:
I'm working on the team set and now this auto joins a red flip PSA 7 Bernie Carbo auto and a signed Luis Tiant that is currently at PSA.
The rest of these were bought on BST from GolfCollector. Great prices and great customer service!
The Harper, Grace and Smith will eventually be slabbed with red flips.

He was such a great human being.

Congrats on the pickup, you beat me to the Seve's! I was trying to get those with the 60s Panini golf cards he had.
a bit slow on my front for April - still chipping away at a 56 set
this is looking like my only pickup for April (though i had a good February so can't complain)
