In a crazy world like the one that we are living in, with printing presses pushing out tons of fiat, and a stock market bubble propped up with devalued dollars, a person is foolish if they don't place/protect their wealth in something real that has a track record for more than 5,000 years.
And why does one need to protect what they have worked for? So they can survive! Yes, it means nothing once a person checks out. Until then, doesn't everyone just want to make it and be as comfortable as possible?
Are you there God? It's me, Stan. It's been a tough week with all these jerks attacking me on the PM forum, even your infinite patience would be tried! Now, I know that Your Book says dozens of times how the accumulation of wealth is the path to hell, and that you feel so strongly about PMs in particular that you even had your Own Son betrayed for them, but if you knew what these America-hating democrats were doing these days...and that dang Soros Fed...well, of course you do, it's Your Plan after all.
And I know it's a test of my faith, so I figure the best way to pass this test is to do exactly the opposite of what Your Teachings order me to do, and stack PMs. I just know you'll understand. Thanks buddy!
Ummmm, yeah. That kind of goes on alot around here because people are bored off their ass and have trouble interacting in the real world, but put 'em behind a keyboard and they can unleash questions of integrity of epic proportions.
To forgive is to free a prisoner, and to discover that prisoner was you.

You're trying to get a rise out of me by distorting reality. You try to do the same thing via PM. It's silly. What makes it even more ignorant is the fact that you don't even know what a person owns or doesn't own.
As for the mocking of God and distorting his word? I will steer clear of that one.

Stan, you're the one pinging me via PM. I have been replying, but am happy to stop now.
In the version of the Bible I know, Jesus was betrayed not for a political position or virgins but for silver, and there are many statements whereby the rich are going to hell. If you're using a different version, humble apologies.

One last thing; No where in God's word does he state it's a sin to own precious metals. Matthew 19:24 that you keep going back to refers to how it can be tougher for a rich man to make it to Heaven. Mainly due to the fact that many rich men love their money more than God, and it becomes their god.
your God, your rules Stan. ignore them as you wish. Matthew 6:19, Matthew 19:21. I can go on all day with this. You will not be able to give one example in your favor. You are sinning by stacking, according to your God.

When you flat out lie and distort God's word, of course you can go on all day. And who said I am stacking? Just because one supports the ideology of owning metals doesn't mean they own them. Kind of like my good friend who enjoys Corvettes and visits Corvette forums online and conventions in person, but doesn't own one himself.
quoting bible verses is lying now if it doesn't fit your preferred worldview? I know that sometimes truths can be inconvenient, especially when it's coming from a jerk like me, but if you are truly a believer than your current actions are sending you in the opposite direction. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Read those 3 verses again.

One more thing; All of these verses you are tossing out are parables, teaching us that we should not love the things of this world more than God. That is where the sin is.

You are using the same manipulation tactics of the scriptures satan tried to use on Jesus. I'm not playing your game. I'm done.
As for judging who is going where, you are the only one doing that. I will leave that up to God. He is a fair judge, and way more qualified than both of us.
Luke 12:16-21: "The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. He reasoned within himself, saying, 'What will I do, because I don't have room to store my crops?' He said, 'This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. I will tell my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, be merry."'
"But God said to him, 'You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?' So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
Parable - using a story to teach a lesson.
Matthew 19:21: “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

What does his posting the people he likes/dislikes have anything to do with anything? It's pointless..
Stan, it's a reflection on his poor value as a scripture guide. It's more important for him to be political than to guide towards God. You should be skeptical of anyone who tries to guide you along a path that ends in 'donations'. And ultimately, it just shows that you'd much rather listen to someone who tells you what you want to hear than listen to something that challenges your current beliefs on the path to heaven.
You know what I'm most sad about? Come Monday when this thread gets poofed and we both get banned. Where will all this illuminating insight go?

You are taking God's word out of context. That is where the problem is. As I said before, God never said being wealthy was a sin. He also never said it was a sin to own precious metals. When you love/value those possessions more than you love him is where the sin is.

I'm not interpreting the words in any way - they're right there for everyone to read. Problem is that you don't like what they say. You want so much to believe that you can accumulate wealth and still be in God's good graces that you're willing to completely ignore his words and instead listen to charlatans who tell you what you want to hear in order that you can feel secure in your afterlife and have your cake here on earth too.
Lol there are no scriptures at all miklia that state that... But I know you haven't read or studied or understand any of the constitution of heaven, so no biggie that's typical of people, it's just like quoting economic fallacies read on a blog or online somewhere...
In context the silver was payment, not the underlying principle of why it happened...
The technicals? Understanding that markets are propped up or held down in a rigged economy are the new "technicals." Your choices are to invest in the Ponzi or against the Ponzi. Time will tell which is the best investment.
My gut says go with the Ponzi short term, against the Ponzi long term. Smart play would be to do both.
"Interest rates, the price of money, are the most important market. And, perversely, they’re the market that’s most manipulated by the Fed." - Doug Casey
I'll buy into the gold Ponzi to a certain extent, just in case the sky brothers decide to offer rides to the afterlife in a fiery chariot or fire breathing dragon, I'll have enough to pay the fare.
At the least, a couple of coins on my eyelids might pay the riverman for my crossing to the other side. Best hedge our bets huh?
