I wasn't familiar with these Florida Emmitt Smith cards before this thread. What's up with the ones that don't have the Burger King logo in the corner on front? Are they some sort of reprint set?
Love that 87-88 Fleer Michael Jordan. Was a favorite card back when I was in HS.
Those 52s have anomalously good centering-- pretty rare in that regard. Great eye.
Regarding that cool Trout-- it is really hard not to become a huge fan of his game. There are echoes of Mantle in the speed and power combination, and the big smile. The gravity is get all the more living in California. I've felt like getting a card of his now and then, but am always utterly lost as to what to get when it comes to the shiny new stuff.
And CollectorAtWork, major props on those Headin' Home Ruth cards in your Ruth Master Set! Wow. You just do not see those babies in every collection. Among the earliest Ruth pinstripe cards in the world. There's a signed one out there I have seen, which was mind-boggling.

There are many a fake in the Emmitt BK world. Some of them get graded by both major companies. I'm working up my thesis on this and will publish a thread here soon. In the meantime, if you're serious about buying one before then PM me and I'll fill you in.
Love the variety in the thread and I hope to see more.
Appreciate all the interest in the BK Smith!

Thanks to Sean Bassik for finding me this little jewel of centering and focus. So many have poor registration that blurs the face. I love the Zeenut Batting and the OPC; never owned a V355, which is my other favorite. But the '41 PB is my first choice to represent the immortal Joe DiMaggio, due to the historic season and streak-- and those insane 13 strikeouts for the whole year. One of my favorite baseball cards. The background color and the folds in the uniform, the swing, it's just a real pleasing pic, IMO.
And I am no back guy but I always loved the write-up on this 88 Score Donny; as a kid, watching what he did those seasons from 1984-1987 was really magical. Went digging in my old childhood collection over Xmas and brought a few of my original cards home...
Here some recent pickups from recent the 5x eBay promo and my wins from the '86 Fleer Basketball "raffle". If anyone wants those '86s they can be had cheap!
Most are for my 1972 Registry set and one lone Browns pickup from the '80s.
I just got this back from PSA. The grader pulled the tab apart as he was taking it out of the holder. So the ticket went from a FULL ticket to a stub, but PSA compensated me for debacle.

Glad to hear it, Mike! I've had that happen to me over the years, too.
I hope you send positive vibes to the tech you've been cursing under your breath these last few months, LOL!

Matty, I'm with you: I don't usually care about the backs of cards, but once in a while there's a writeup that really captures what you love about a player. I recently shared one of those when I posted my Cappelletti RC to that thread.
Itzagoner: that Foxx is TREMENDOUS!! Love the player and that card is awesome.

I like the DiMaggio card - and think this game maker used that card as a model:
Here are my March pick-ups (Clemente actually came the last week of February). I bought the Mantle from fellow board member wrighty (aka Jeff) and love it:
This thread was an awesome idea! I have been really tied up on a project for the last week and haven't had a chance to catch-up, so much to comment on!
That Jeter jersey is just bad-ass! Very cool. What does Jeter charge when he is doing a signing with Steiner? Anyone think he might start making the National circuits? I would love to get something in person from Jeter!
Eric, I have the Lebron, but want every other RC you showed! Thats great stuff. I will be looking to knock some of those out at the Natty actually. (Booked Hotel last night BTW)
Dustin, You know my thoughts on that second year Jordan. LOVE that card. I've been buying up Shaq's as of late myself. I dont have that Shaq Hoops Redemption yet.
BP-Sweet Manning Auto and Rickey RC! Congrats on that ticket, despite the tough luck with PSA.
Matt, Great looking 41 Joe D PB. You have multiples of that card dont you?
Speaking of multiples, if I was going to hoard one card it would be the 56 Mantle. Congrats MileHigh on such a beautiful card.
This has been alot of fun to view, from Tim's racks (yes I just said that) to the really high end 52's Stoney picked up. Doug How many 52's do you have signed now?
Keep them coming guys!
Matt I collect: 80’s Rookies and 86 Fleer Basketball

I sold a ton of cards to justify it in my mind.

I picked up this Winfield for my Post-War HOF Rookies set.
I also picked up in two purchases 99 more of the 2013 Topps Archives Gold parallels numbered out of /199 that I needed. 2013 Archives was the first box I bought when I got back into collecting a couple of years ago, and I had so much fun opening it I decided to try to complete all of the regular short prints (not the new "error" SSP), hobby inserts, and the full gold parallel set. These 99 bring me to 199 of the 200 gold, and the last card will finish the whole thing. Only card left to pick up is the Robin Yount. I'm just waiting for one to turn up somewhere.
Got two more T206's in the mail today. The first is Bill Lattimore which puts me at 95. The second is Dick Egan. I am trying to do a back run of Egan as a side project. Now have Piedmont, Old Mill and Sweet Caporal backs. I think I have 9 or 10 to go.
Just got this in the mail today. One of my "back burner" projects is a PSA Registry 1974 Topps Red Sox team set. I'm hoping to wrap up a couple of other projects so I can focus more on this one. I've always liked the photo on this card, but wish they had used a crisper photo.
I've got a signed 74 Tiant out in the group red flip sub that I'll soon be adding to this set too.
A couple more 52's that came in this week as well as a few 54 Bowmans. I can't remember when I picked up the 54's, but I just got around to scanning so I thought I would share.
These put me at 13.27% on '52 and 32% on '54.
If anyone is interested in taking a look at the link below, 90% of the cards in my registry sets are scanned and uploaded.
The variety of the items in this thread is amazing~really interesting to see different cards and other collectibles from different eras!
Just picked this beauty up~a 1977 Topps baseball rack pack with George Brett on top. The rack is super clean, with no rips or tears and unpunched header card. I now have a run of rack packs from 1975 through 1980 with Brett on top. I will have to dig them out one day and photograph them in a row.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Also picked up a pair of GAI graded 75 mini wax packs~this one is from a sealed case, and though it's not noted on the flip, Mike Schmidt is face out on back.
