I was looking for my order and the norm is once they send me the your order has shipped. I rec them the next day. Whell it shipped on the 17th so on friday the 20th I asked the mail lady and she said no order here. So I went to look up the tracking and it says it's in NY. I called PCGS and they said the shipping Dept will get back to me. So any one else have this happen? and how long did it take for your coins vaction trip to end and get back you?

The USPS is barely functioning these days imho. Weather, cuts to their labor force and sorting facilities is taking its toll. If you saw the tracking on some of my recently mailed packages it would have you pulling out your hair.

I've filed three complaints in the past month. Slow delivery, no tracking, misplaced parcels. It's becoming quite a nuisance.

My last Heritage win took a little vacation in Florida on its way from Texas to California. Eventually showed up but not fun to watch with valuable items.

Not sure why your package ended up on the east coast, but that is not good....lots of storms here and bad roads messing up deliveries...good luck. Cheers, RickO

I agree, not to mention the sub zero weather. Makes plastic brittle.

That's the truth. I paid extra for a coin to priority ship & it took 5 business days + the weekend. Every day they get worse. Now they don't deliver to my street 2 times a week and I live in
a pretty big town with the friggin post office 4 blocks away at the end of my street. The drivers that deliver to our development as a matter of routine do our street last, so if it gets to quitting
time they just don't bother. I went nuts on them at the counter week ago figuring what can they do? Not deliver? I'm already there.

Maybe it's a false entry / data read?

I have a registered package that is going to be delivered soon, but, a couple days ago the package was in St. Paul, MN and Phoenix, AZ simultaneously.

Ugh! Best of luck. I once had a package take a little tour of the United States on its way to PCGS but it eventually got there. It happens.

image You're right! I have a friend that works at a FedEx facility and some of the stories are amazing. They have snakes & other stuff sneaking around all the time that are being
shipped & they escape from the packages.

For about the past 6 months or so, things have definitely slipped at the USPS. I've had several packages, both sending and receiving, that have gone on wild goose chases across the country. The frequency of mis-routing has picked up substantially from my limited perspective...

That's why they work for the government. They can only screw things up. These government dorks can't make It in the real world. Look at the useless, baseless posts by Cry (baby) 79 trying to defend these worthless leeches.

Not just packages either. I sent a gentleman in New Haven CT a check for $225 on January 23, he lives at 180 XXX St. He never got it, and it has never shown up or cleared the bank. He told me that what he DID get is a bunch of other people's mail, people who lived at 180 YYY St, 180 ZZZ St. etc. He said the PO is just throwing mail around.

    Best Regards,

I recently had an interaction with a local postal supervisor, an express package didn't show up for the guaranteed delivery time, it was three days late and this branch is ALWAYS full of impatient customers, after a few minutes of back and forth hes trying to tell me that when I first called about it (after it was already two days late) it was diverted back to the sender, so it was my fault that it didn't arrive on time. after a few more minutes of back and forth he says: "well you know, we do our very best to get mail delivered, we even deliver mail with no address on it" so I said "ok, if you cant deliver mail WITH address on it, how do you deliver mail WITHOUT an address on it ?" rather than saying, well it wasn't there on time, lets do the right thing and refund this, no, hes gonna try and justify why it was three days late.
regardless of how many posts I have, I don't consider myself an "expert" at anything

And here we just had a thread a few months back praising USPS for its general reliability considering how huge its operation scope is.

I haven't had any problems receiving or sending out things. In fact, on my end, the USPS seems to get faster. My stuff to and from PCGS always takes a near straight shot and I'm 1200 or 1500 miles away or so. Tracking info is mostly correct except when it begins with expected delivery day Monday, February 23 and changes to Saturday, February 21 on Friday, February 20th. I haven't experienced much of what you guys describe. Has it really gone that far downhill in the past few months?

It seems that something happened suddenly, and nationwide at that. It's worse now than it's ever been and seems to have gotten critically worse after the holidays ended.

I tend to give the local USPS crew a little leeway, within reason. Staff cutbacks coupled with demanding management.
Packages occasionally make it to NY when they mistakenly get thrown in with international mail. We've had this happen more than once, most recently with a priority mail package going from IL to Ohio. Someone apparently misread the "priority mail" on the box as "international priority mail"... image

From the USPS website, this national news release may provide some hint of the reason for reduced quality of service. They handled 6 million more pieces of mail in the 1st quarter of their 2015 fiscal year over the 1st quarter of their 2014 fiscal year. With staff and facilities cutbacks effected nationwide, is it any wonder that service quality might suffer a bit? The slight revenue increase doesn't necessarily correlate to better or more efficient service.
