Gotta say, that's a pretty disappointing first-hand product review. Any follow up info, impressions, commentary with respect to having this thing in hand?
Separately, there was an item in the news about the potential of people voluntarily allowing their smart watch to send their vitals and activity levels to their health insurance companies, ostensibly to get a break on rates for healthy behavior.
Watch out though! Those "incentives" will be viewed by conspirators as "penalties" for those not allowing "invasion of privacy" by Them ( big brother, the string pullers)
(aka the "Liberty" to eat and drink and smoke too much of the wrong things, lie around instead of getting 10,000 steps in per day, etc, and not get charged extra for the risk)
My wife wears something called a FitBit (or similar name) that tracks her activity and sleep for her own use of the information, and she'd be willing to "share" the data to save money.
Me, on the other hand? I'm not sure I'd get a rate cut. They may even raise my premiums based on some weeks' activity (or lack thereof)

Come on Dave you are better then this. Your "research" is sloppy.
In your effort to always be right they are two flaws in your statement:
1) there is no such thing as the iWatch
2) how can something be down 90% when it hasn't had an anniversary date and Apple never made sales projections nor have they released sales? Source please.
It's going to be the second or third generation Apple Watch that push the envelope. The first generation watches need TLC for sure.
Dave, from Slice where I take it for granted you based your statement from ( if not please link)
A) the 90% number is ONLINE US sales only month over month. I'm sure you know they are now sold in Apple stores. Intially they were not and could only be bought online. Of course online sales would go down. This "number" doesn't account for International sales which are indeed robust.
Although Slice Intelligence's figures have been widely reported, its methodology—which is based on analyzing email receipts from its panel of 2 million online shoppers, according to its website—has been criticized.
In addition, Annette Zimmerman, an analyst with research company Gartner, said that the U.S. sales "do not tell the full story."
"This company only counts online order confirmations in the U.S.; they can't measure anything outside the U.S.," she told CNBC via email on Wednesday. "There are other big economies like Germany and Japan where the watch is selling. The trend curve is probably similar (strong sales in the first weeks and then slowing after) there, but the U.S. sales do not tell the full story."
She was positive about the Apple Watch's sales prospects.
"Gartner have a forecast for the total smart watch volume for 2015 and that is 40 million and in this 40 million our current assumption is that Apple could do 15-20 million units in 2015," she said.
"I am still optimistic that Apple will get high volumes for the Apple Watch during Christmas."
An Apple spokesperson could not provide sales figures for the watch on Wednesday, but repeated what Apple's CEO Tim Cook said in his last earnings call, that "right now, the demand is greater than the supply

What has dropped out of fashion exactly? I think you are underestimating Apple. Most do so you have company. That however, has proven to be the wrong side of the bet. Apple's ecosystem is second to none. Matter of fact no one is even in second. Is Apple too big where it will hard to sustain meteoric growth? Sure. They will mint cash regardless.
