How fast can I reload?

As I sit here waiting for a dealer to begin to load NEWPS at the generally expected and broadly communicated time, I have to begin to wonder how much of acquiring the tough coins for my collection really comes down to how fast I can reload and flip an email to the dealer. Now, often times I will get an advance warning or an early shot at a coin that is clearly for me but the whole experience of coin buying has changed with the internet. The internet makes relationships all the more valuable as fresh coins in tough dates will go quickly, sometimes in seconds of being listed. Rather than lament that coin buying has become a matter of clicking the reload button as fast as possible, it also makes me appreciate more the random emails from dealers with a specific offer for me that is right up my alley.
Do you find the same and do you have a preferred method for dealer inventory management? Big waves of coins coming at predetermined times or trickling coins in randomly? The former seems to be to be the method of choice and my preferred option. Doug Winter generally at the same times post shows and preceded by advance emails, CRO EB always Tuesdays at 12pm EST, Legend on the weekends.

Which way is more fun the modern method or the old ways?

I've enjoyed watching your posts on newps and the hunt to fill holes in your set. I also realize that your are out of the country so you have to rely on internet offerings and auctions vs going to shows.
When I was actively building my set, I enjoyed looking thru dealer inventories, auction sites, and most of all going to shows. It was never a time consuming and urgent proposition. I collected for fun (and maybe a bit of profit) and when there were times when I felt overwhelmed in trying to keep up, I took some time off. This is a hobby for me and if I am not enjoying it, I take a time out.
I will also say that I built up a network of trusted dealers that would help me find the coins I was looking for. Once the set was finished, they also helped with upgrades.
With respect to quantities, everyone has a limit to what they can spend. However, there are times where it seems like multiple coins would surface at the same time which would put a dent in the budget. In my case, if this occurred, I would swallow hard, buy the coins I wanted as you never know when one might be offered again in the future.
So I would say - engage in the hobby and enjoy the ride. If it is overwhelming or becomes a "job", take a step back and reevaluate.
Good luck.
