An issue that is hard to find with nice color. Here's mine from the "Pre Dirty Thirties" commem set.

EDITED 2/13/15: Lets do a grading thread. Here are the grades in the thread so far:

Mine is a 55
The Trueview 6330152709 is a 63
That drop dead gorgeous coin posted my just a commem is a 66
The ANACs is a 45

For those that posted coins without grades, please edit your post and include the grades.

I like that one. It is so tough to find those in circulated grades with a look I can stomach.

That's about the nicest AU example I can recall seeing. Other than having decent luster, mine is pretty "meh!"

At our coin club meeting we divided into two teams and had a trivia quiz. The last question was a photo of the obverse of the Lafayette dollar and the question was "What year was this coin struck?"

Well, I told our team that was a commem from 1900, and got a confirmation from another guy on our team, and we went with that answer.

Wrong. We learned they were all struck in 1899.

The other team got it wrong also, so it didn't sting that much.

Hey guys, this is supposed to be a LAFAYETTE GRADING SET thread. I showed the only two grades of Lafayettes I own, so where are the rest? So far, it looks like only five grades have been shown. There a lot more grades of Lafayettes still to show. Get with it! Many of us love the Lafayettes.
