Who is the figure on the US Marshals Commemorative Silver Dollar?

Does anyone know or can guess who the figure is on the new US Marshals Commemorative Silver Dollar?



He looks familiar but I can not place him, either from an old photograph or a Western film actor.

The designers are identified as Frank Morris and Joseph Menna, but there is nothing about who the "model" is.

The US Mint mailer doesn't say much more than a generalized Old West U.S. Marshal.

Likely just a caricature, no model needed.... and with his gun positioned like that (obviously for a left hand crossdraw) he would not have lived long enough to become famous......Cheers, RickO
