I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

I like the original skin of this piece, and I cant help but wonder, if the san fran mint was alive and well in 1791 why didn't they mint any coins until 1854 ?
regardless of how many posts I have, I don't consider myself an "expert" at anything
I see this stuff from time to time that listing says a lot about the seller being a complete s cumbag. Normally they list them as novelty pieces. Then of course this seller is not normal.
OOOOOOOHHH!!! How dare you post this before the auction is over. You just ruined any chance I had of a cherrypick. OF Course it is real. There is nothing phony in Ireland.!!! It is a super rare pre-issue, pre-mint pattern and is the last one I needed for my collection. Now you let the cat out of the bag and my $1.00 max bid will not hold up.
Yup. In 1791, San Francisco wasn't even U.S. territory. >>

A counterfeit coin, even though the U.S. Mint did not strike a 1791-S Trade Dollar.
