Question About Toning

I pulled this 1955 proof cent from a proof set that was housed in an old Wayte Raymond black
cardboard holder. Is the toning nice and acceptable or is the cent ruined??
The obverse is about half gray over red and the reverse has patches of blue over red.

TIA

Harvey

I think most will not like it. It is what it is but I think most people would only be willing to
    buy at a discounted price.

I don't think that most collectors will like it. Unfortunately the area behind Lincoln's head appears to have environmental damage.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. All tarnish is environmental damage... this is just a bit worse than many....Cheers, RickO
  • Copper is a tough animal out of a certification holder, too much going on with those surfaces.

When it starts to have growth like around the hair, I call it environmental damage not toning.

I think it's not going to be very wanted by most collectors.
