7 down and 1 to go!

amwldcoinamwldcoin Posts: 11,269 ✭✭✭✭✭
Several years ago I started putting sets of PCGS Graded Barber Half's together in every grade from F-12 to XF-45.
I finally got a coin back in a 40 holder that was cracked out several years ago by Cary. It took 5 tries if I am not mistaken(lost count) as evidently PCGS did not like the crusty original look it had which I love! It kept coming back VF-35. I actually figured knowing my luck when they did XF it would come back 45! As they say persistence pays off albeit I am buried in the coin due to the grading expenses. image Logpotato posted a picture of it for me somewhere in the annals of the Barber Megathreads but I just haven't the time or the knowledge of how to effectively use the search successfully here!

Barbernut's XF40 Barber Hald Set

I only lack 2 XF45's and my project will be complete other than I am constantly looking and adding improvers!

Very nice 8 different sets with only one coin to find. Those sets are a very nice way to go!
That last one should be out there, it will be offered for sale sometime.

I'm shocked that coin ever came back as a 35- it's a 40 all day long. Congrats on knocking out another set; Will you do a display at a FUN show sometime? It would be really cool to see them all at the same time. It could be overwhelming! image
    I love them Barber Halves.....

Thanks! I also agree and that was why I was persistent. Hard not to take that coin up to the man and ask what is up with this since it was in a 40 holder before!

I would display them at FUN if you would sponsor a Brinks trip from my bank to the show and back! image

That is impressive. I don't think I'll ever be that focused!
