Most people aren't aware that he is considered "The First American". Not to take anything away from the American Indian, in that respect.
Also , from the digital age of electrons, we wouldn't have silicon… or solid state , or any of that . We wouldn't have Ohm's law if Ben weren't holding the "key" on a string, as history would have it.
Ben Franklin is one of my personal American heroes. Not bad for an immigrant, anyway.
