I've sent in all of my Large Cents for grading. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks whether or not I know what I'm doing.image

And Trueviews.

Not necessarily. I've never heard of PCGS sending a nice severance package with a disappointing submission.

Good luck, they have looked like great coins, I'm confident that most of them will grade how you think they will, and of course, either way, the pictures will be nice

Copper was the only area where I really got beat up with I was getting my raw coins certified.

If your coins are rejected, don't feel too badly. You will be in some good company. And I'll say it here, I don't think that graders are always right. I've had some copper coins that got rejected when I sent them in for grades, which later got a grade when someone else submitted them. image

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Not to worry, generally the copper heads love net graded copper also becasue they love the coin not the holder!! It does authenticate them....

I did the same thing with my sons set about 2009. These were all you would expect an 8 year old to have afforded, and basically been given by friendly dealers at shows, swap meets, etc. The reason for doing this is that he and I wanted to combine his large cents and indian cents with my Lincoln set to have a complete cent set. (and as of today we are 2 coins away from that goal) But the reason I am telling you this is that I learned a big lesson when it comes to grading large cents verses other cents. And that is they are very forgiving. You will do just fine.

But they don't always get the attribution right either, so be careful.

I also think they are tougher/tighter on grading them now then they were back in the OGH days....

I did my submissions online, and PCGS has pre-selected numbers/descriptions from which you must choose - which forces an attribution. I'm pretty sure that one of my Large Letters had to be submitted as Medium Letters (or vice-versa, I forget which.)

Also will be neat to see what the ones your freed from plastic regrade as?

All of my coins were bought raw, except for an 1824 which I had already traded back, and the 1806 which I made Tom Reynolds crack out for me. I'm curious to see how it grades, because it was nicer out of the NGC slab than it was looking at it through foggy, scratched plastic.image

Many of my coins were previously graded and cracked out, so I do still have all of the labels and the auction envelopes, etc... I'll be able to do some cursory reporting on any differences in grade between previous grades and now, and between the TPGs.
