An "Old School" MS65 Barber dime

This coin was obtained by a collector in the 1930s or 1940s, sold to my friend in 1986 as part of the estate, and then slabbed in 1989 or so. It came to me in 2007 when I bought the complete Barber dime set, minus the 1894-S.
While 1892-O is a first year of issue, it's not all that common in Gem. This coin gives new meaning to the word "frosty" in-hand. One of my favorite Barber purchases of all time!

Upgrade potential? Possibly, but I'd leave it in the old holder and send it off to CAC... wouldn't surprise me to see a gold sicker on it.
<< <i>Beautiful Dime. The rev is a 67 all day. The obv is probably just 65 or 65+.

I'd agree with that.
Hanging around these forums for more than a decade, I have cultivated more of a love of toned coins, but seeing that one reminds me how much I still like blast white ones, too.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

ill go along with that ( and yes, i agree and wish the obverse looked like the reverse )
Hey, Ron.
Glad you kept that one - its a great looking coin
and looks like it was plucked out of a roll back in
1892.
