They sold ONE coin for all ten options last week!

    I stuck all my silverware into that series a few years back.

    Good news though; a mintage of double digits may resurrect this series de feo.
    Now riding the swell in PM's and surf.

    The mint is now paying the price for having too many expensive new issue items. Public interest in this series seems to almost nil.
    All glory is fleeting.

    This series never should have happened. But those who have read my posts know that is nothing new from me. I'm sure that low mintages will make them in "investments" but not collectors' items in the future.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I'm inclined to think Franklin Mint stuff draws more interest that First Spouse. You see the current low mintage Keys
    in First Strike offered at a healthy markup but are any of those actually selling?

    Perhaps the zeroes can be explained by the Mint's website transition last week.

    Let's say the First Spouse program just keeps sliding downhill. Will the quit making them? I suppose it would have to be killed by legislation?

    The program is actually wrapping up by 2016.
    Maybe the more well known modern-era ladies will sell better but I doubt it.

    With only 6 more to go...unlikely.
    With the upcoming ladies from the mid to late 20th Century, this series may still end up being a winner.. Today's "sows ear may yet turn into a silk purse." (I do not collect this series...just a gut feeling)
