All nice cards. Politics and subjectivity will ultimately determine whether the best of them is given the 10 sticker or not. And the best of them is not at all distinguishable from those that have been given a 10. If one pops a 10, it's great and a far better path taken then those who paid so much more for essentially the same quality card.
<< <i>best way to just do a "review"? no way, I'm gonna crack... >>
I would send them all and hope one bumps. The SGC would need to be a crossover sub if you don't crack it.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
that's what I planned on doing...I've had decent success when I send a few 9's of the same card....and of course the sgc would have to be logged as a cross over, but putting it in the same box with a note on the "notes" line. maybe they can stick them all together and hopefully 1 looks better than the other 5. I think the sgc and I have my eye on one of the other ones that I think "might" have a shot.
good luck with them, cant wait see them when they get back

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
Best of luck. They are really nice. I thought the top border on the pink sticker card looked thin, but I may be speaking out of turn because I am unsure how to properly measure T/B centering on this set (i.e., whether the bottom border is just under "PITCHER" or just under the lowest printed letter, which in this case is the "y" of Ryan).
<< <i>I know that it would be complete insanity but what if the OP were to crack and submit them?
What would be the graders reaction?
Would is chances of landing a 10 increase?
What is the value of this card in a 10 vs a 9? >>
I think it would be more likely for two of them to drop to an 8 (losing $675-900 each) than one to get a 10. Not that I don't think one is worthy of a 10, but that's a card they're going to be extra strict with.
Okay so each card cost on average let's say $1100. If you were to land the 10 on 1 and if at least 3 of the remaining 5 came back as 9's you be sitting on 30k worth of Ryan's. That would be somewhere between 4 and 5 to 1 on your money if my math is right which would be a very nice return obviously.

So if that were to happen he would lose about $1500.

+1, though the one with the pink stickers is a close 2nd (great registration, crisp white).

I don't like the centering on the back of the yellow sticker one.
The SGC one and the one with the pink sticker look like they might be the best of the lot.
<< <i>Either pink sticker or SGC. SGC 98 does look a little O/C. Could just be my eyes playing tricks. >>
it's probably my scanner.

my prices ranged between $925 and $1200 for the 9's.
only two 10's out there and last one sold for $26K+ i think....

So if that were to happen he would lose about $1500.
But if he got the 10 he would make $23,000+.
It almost seems worth it to me.....
