I can't even begin to express my appreciation for this thread. Truly educational and fascinating! I've been searching for any online communities of pre-war era tennis card collectors. Are there any out there? This thread is the closest thing I've found. Thank you.
A big thanks to Alex in helping me locate the 2001 Tennis Plus Federer card. I sent it to Federer through the mail and he signed it flawlessly. Then I sent it to Beckett for encapsulation. Take a look.
Does anyone know the year of this Israeli Rod Laver card? The seller listed it as 1970’s, but I’ve seen it listed elsewhere as 1960’s. It has a blank back and it’s part of a large, multi-sport set. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Looks like the market has changed a lot since I was out. I'm selling a few shiny things on eBay but keeping most of my stuff.
On the recent posts:
Connors - looks like at least one new option has been discovered. A bunch sold recently. I'll post some pics later.
Israel laver that's an amazing card for sure. I have seen all kinds of dates for it. Some that predate the mira. I would be a buyer for sure if you wanted to sell it. I don't have any more info to accurately date it.
2000 ATP tour set. Love all the stp sets. Safin is another card from that 2000 set I would hold on to.
I don't know on the agassi rookie. All of mine have players on the back. Depeck seems to be a resident expert on those paninis with his collecting focus. Maybe he knows more
Welcome back! Spectacular collection! Thanks for commenting on the Israeli Rod Laver. It’s one of my favorites. You should check out my tennis card blog on Instagram: vintage_tennis_cards. There’s nothing for sale - just pics of cards that I love, including several rookie card contenders that aren’t on your list.
I know it’s a bit of a stretch to refer to these oddballs as “cards,” but I figured they’re worth sharing. They’re issued by Spanera - a Belgian cigar company. Based on a partial checklist I have, I believe this set was issued in 1990 and could therefore pre-date the 1991 Netpro rookie cards of both Sampras and Ivanisevic. Does anyone have more info on these?

Those are pretty cool. I don't think I'm going to switch off netpro's for my collection and don't know anything about the issue, but will be curious to see what others on the forum know about it.
Does anyone have any information on 2015 pro net Wimbledon cards. I found images of the checklist but can’t find any information on them. I’m trying to get them graded

Sounds interesting, but I know nothing about those. I just sent some 1987 Fax Pax cards for grading. And 1991 Legends Agassi rookies.
My recollection was that I asked the original seller a while back and they disclosed that to me. It's been a few years and I couldn't find the eBay communication so take it with a grain of salt
I decided to shut down this thread after all. Tennis cards got too valuable all of a sudden and I'm not interested in helping out profiteers and investors. Glad to help out collectors on request if anyone has any questions feel free to reach out. I've got some google docs with piles of new info - updated rookies for some of the big 4, updated rookies for some of the stars from the 60/70s, address information for some of today's tour stars that you should grab auto's from while you can. I'm going to put together a restricted access website so collectors can hopefully buy up the key items I've found before investors get to them. Thanks all for your input and feedback through the years.

Thanks for the comments. There are other collectors out there. One of the more knowledgeable has a bunch of his sets on the PSA registry here: http://www.psacard.com/psasetregistry/jolsonma/othersets/2285
Happy Collecting!

Awesome thread.
1976 Jimmy Connors rookie.
IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED

Federer also signed this one TTM too. It's the earliest Ace card from 2005.
The Federer's look great! Glad the address and card worked out.

I bought a 2000 ATP card set and it also contains a rookie card of future HOFer Lleyton Hewitt.
I’ve only seen Agassi rookie with a soccer player on the backs. Psa has labeled this as the Spanish version. Any idea if this is accurately labeled?
A few kids later I'm sort of back 😁

I thought those were customs that someone was making and not licensed. I am not certain though.

The lack of information would suggest that. Here are some scans

Pro Net seems like a knockoff of Netpro.
