Yes, I know that set. It is from the set called the 1957-1958 Swedish-420 Series. I have been able to get them to grade them after a few tries. My #252 Stanley Matthews (soccer) was graded as part of an order that popped yesterday. I also own a couple others from that set: #70 Ferenc Puskas (soccer) and #382 Ingemar Johansson (boxing).

BUYING Frank Gotch T229 Kopec Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
Right. That is the Olympic Sport series. BVG has been grading those for a relatively long time. That set is from 1959. The cards in it have been easier to find than the ones in the 1957-58 set based on my experience. I've got the Jesse Owens, Joe Louis, and Floyd Patterson cards from the 1959 Swedish Olympic Series set.
I've got several of those - I don't think they're rare or condition sensitive - looks like I should list mine for sale if people are paying $30+ for them with creases...
If I had a chance to get Connor's autograph on just one card that won't be the one I chose. For me, I think the fact that it just shows possibly Jimmy Connor's back would keep me from calling that his rookie. Not really a card featuring Jimmy Connors IMO. To each his own though!
As a side note probably better form to post for sale notices in the BST forum.
After doing more research on the 1976 Nabisco set, I found out there IS actually a Jimmy Connors card in the set. But its not the #3 card(Newcombe). Its card #10. It has a picture of Jimmy Connors playing doubles with Ilie Nastase, and also has Connors and Nastase listed on the back of the card as U.S. OPEN doubles champions. Strange enough, I found a picture of this #10 card GRADED BY PSA. The PSA label says 'Jimmy Connors. So therefore, it still looks like the 1976 Nabisco set has his true rookie. Its just not the John Newcombe card lol. Here is a picture of the PSA graded #10 card. Connors picture is the bottom, and Nastase on the top of card.

O posted the card on ebay because its the first one I have seen since this previous discussion. PSA has only graded 2 of these so the card does appear to be rare.
IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED
If you don't mind me asking, how did you pick up the Sampras. Throught HOF? Any help would be appreciated. I have a few addresses as well, perhaps we can make a trade.
I've never seen or heard of that card. Do you have a scan of it? I love learning about new cards like this. I just got a 2002 question sport card of Federer that is on its way to psa
Great job getting the 2002 Question of Sport card. I was able to get one of those about 6 months ago. Good luck with your grading. Would love to see what it gets. They are hard to come by in good condition.
I did see a post from Autos4Alex which started he picked up some of these 2001 Tennis Plus Federer cards back in Nov 2014 for a good price. The $2K on eBay is quite high so I'm looking to find something I can afford.
Not a Hall of Famer, but the 1955 Men's U.S. Nationals Doubles Champion, Japanese Kosei Kamo. This is a 1950s Japanese menko of him....one of several I picked up recently.
That's pretty cool. Kosei Kamo isn't a hall of famer but he did win a Grand Slam tournament. Probably his rookie and maybe his only card, I think those factors combined make it a pretty collectible item. I'll have to keep an eye out for these menko things.
I'm on the Japanese auction sights all the time and this is the first time I remember running into a Japanese tennis menko. I did pick up several of these and have one in my PC and the other one is actually on eBay now.....just trying to keep my collection streamlined to keep it from busting at the seams.

The main webpage from that site has some great links to many Swedish sets
Perhaps it should have been labeled as Svart-vita Sportserien instead of 420-Series then?...
