The question remains - mint to demand (my guess) or limited mintage??? Inquiring minds would like to know...

I leave on safari that day, but not until around 11:00 am Pacific. I should still have around 2 hours to get my order in...

    << <i>Pricing info >>

That actually seems like an appealing price for a 4-coin silver set with each coin struck at different Mint facility and all 4 with different finishes. I predict a lot of sets being ordered at that price point at noon on August 5. Any idea what the 3/4 oz gold piece will be priced at?

the gold will undoubtedly be priced in accordance with spot price at that time. I have been guess-timating halfway between the proof gold 1 ounce and 1/2 ounce price since it is 3/4 troy. fixed costs may make it a bit more expensive than the midpoint of the two.

image......Here's the chance for the Mint to practice their "fair and equal access" policy.

I say 3 sets or less per address during the first 2 weeks on the 4-pc set. One per address on the gold coin during the first 2 weeks also.

That would give us all a "fair and equal" chance to get at least one 4-pc set and the gold coin.

    Will the Mint do this?

    NO

No date for selling the 4 piece silver set...Aug 5 is when the gold goes on sale. The clad 2 piece set sales start July 24th.

Probably not. Your idea is good but the Mint never seems to learn from past experience and fair is last on their list. Now if they read this forum things might be different.

I predict high mintage limit, if any limit, and no limits on orders.

Question on the 4-Coin Silver Set.

    - Is there a difference between the current 2014-S Silver Proof & 2014-S Clad Proof and what will be in the 4-Coin Set Proof's?

The description of the ones that will come in the 4-Coin set says the following:
    - Proof version struck at the Philadelphia Mint (Got it, NEW !!)
    - Reverse proof version struck at the West Point Mint (Got it, NEW !!)
    - Enhanced uncirculated version struck at the San Francisco Mint (Question ??)
    - Uncirculated version struck at the Denver Mint. (Got it, NEW !!)

    - Is the "S" different that the current available Silver Proof?

I thought so but wanted to make sure as the "Enhanced" term was stumping me a little bit.

Will you be in if there is no order limit? The mintage could be extremely high.

Every other week? You don't think they'll be released the last week of July for ANA? Someone released info that the mint will have two of the three sets for sale there. Clad and gold?

Nothing new on the product schedule. They are releasing the first two gold spouses a week apart (first two weeks of July.)

The mint would be foolish to set mintage limits on this release. These aren't commems. These are more along the lines of the ASE and RP buffalo releases.

Agree. However, the mint has a history of doing foolish things.

Oh look out. If any Kennedy is worth money, as the general public says, what will a real Gold one be worth?

Easily several $ Millions. Flippers get ready. Mortgage the house, put the kids to work - for their futures.

I'll go out on a limb and predict It'll end up "coin of the year" (the gold one)! Gold is the key word here. A long awaited event that should had happen years ago. We shall see. Esp. if the mintage is obscure. Fingers crossed.image

Odd that they wouldn't just have the silver and gold versions available same day. Something tells me you'll be able to get the silver at ANA also.
I'm not going to go crazy with these, especially with no limits (apparently).

I am trying to think what they would enhance on the portrait-would they do the hair or would that look weird? The reverse would probably look good.

    From Coin World:

    image

However, the red and blue under the picture seem reversed from what would make more sense.

Still, $9.95 for the clad 2 coin set and $99.95 for the 4 silvers falls in line with Mint pricing of late.
