I have always had very good luck in getting what I felt was a jaw dropping number for such bars and when they were purchased for a tad over Spot made it all the sweeter.
I've often wondered what the people who purchase them for such a premium see in them and do with them...ehhh, I'll stop there. Do they hold the piece in their one free hand (get it) and say, oh yeah oh yeah baby, right there?

So the rascal that eventually mints tripple XXX hardcore bullion will get 4x, 5x, 10x melt?

Maybe to a few kooks, but both the wholesale and retail investor shun "novelty" in bulk

I'll take a different view on this.

Not everything is about dollars and cents.

I have PM holdings that are geared toward the practical/investment/financial side of things and then I have pieces that are strictly for fun.

The silver that I buy for fun is, just like anything else I do for fun, not something that I worry about in terms of the price. What is a couple of bucks, even twenty bucks, if I enjoy something.

    ---
A couple of examples: I'm an avid target shooter, I'm not going to stop myself from enjoying that past time simply because ammo prices are significantly higher relative to what they were two years ago.

I don't drink, for whatever reason I never cared for the taste of alcohol. Some people enjoy fine bottles of wine. Even not so fine wine at restaurant will cost you $25 a bottle. I don't view the person who enjoys that bottle of wine with his or her dinner to be a kook or a drunk, but rather someone who has made a conscious decision regarding how they choose to spend their discretionary money.

    ---

Money is a tool and should be used wisely and treated with respect, that respect comes from, at least in my experience, when someone actually has to work hard to earn it. But once savings are acquired, future obligations met, contingencies planned for, then I say it's alright to allow oneself to enjoy things. LIFE IS SHORT. To each his own.

With regard to sexy silver bars, sure it looks pretty stupid as a silver purchase compared to another item with a very low premium but you have to remember that these are simply novelty items, nothing more, nothing less.

The use of a pretty woman, scantily clad or otherwise, has been, and continues to this day, to be used to sell virtually all types of items.
Women, as an object of desire, have caused men to wage war, conquer kingdoms and generally act without reason or logic for all of recorded history. Ask Mr. Sterling.

There are plenty of people, if we canvassed any "Main Street" in America and asked what the random public thought about purchasing PM's, regardless of the premium relative to spot price or what was depicted on the item, a large percentage would likely think any PM holdings are strange. I say let each to his or her own.

I currently have 2 bars like that in my collection and I was lucky enough to buy those for $23 each. $40-$50 is the usual sell price for that particular bar. However, I have seen several other nude silver art bars sell for much more than that. For example, the 1973 Colonial Mint version "Marilyn" nude bar usually sells for between $60 - $100 on ebay and I have seen some USSC/DVM adult-themed bars sell for between $80 - $130 on ebay in the past based on what I have observed on ebay. A lot of the 1980's Crown Mint Beauties will sell for between $50-$60 each on ebay. Adult-themed silver art rounds do not fair as well as adult-themed bars.

I found bar like that from a coin show in Georgia about 3 weeks ago and I bought it for $23 which was a steal of a deal for that particular bar given the fact that I have seen it sell on ebay between $59 - $90+ on ebay. That bar is a 1984 PAMP "Nude Honeycomb with Bees". That is an excellent find IMO. Even though adult-themed silver art bars are considered novelty items, they can be bought for .999 generic silver premiums if one looks hard enough. I have had some very good luck in the past finding and buying those types of silver art bars for .999 generic silver premiums. I am not a real PM stacker, I am just a collector that like certain rare and novelty silver art bars.

As for me, I LOVE collecting adult-themed silver art bars and I will occasionally buy one if I see it for .999 generic silver premiums.

For the record, my avatar is not even close to what I would refer to as silver art porn lol.
It's a guy with his head up his arse because he doesn't realize that he should buy silver. If that's porn to you, ummm, ok. You are into different things than I am imageimage

Generally speaking, I do not buy silver art rounds so I do not have an opinion on whether or not your avatar is silver art porn or not. It is subjective and I will leave that for others to decide.

For me personally, I like several of the adult-themed silver art bars among many different silver art bars. Some of them I consider silver art porn and some of them I do not consider as silver art porn but I like nevertheless. I buy what I like and what is rare and hard to find especially when I can get it for only .999 generic silver premiums.

fyi..Your PAMP bar is one of 4 Seasons Bars...Your Bar is the Vernal Equinox bar. Depending on the condition, like you indicated, they sell at a premium above spot. There is also a copy cat RAMI, a lot of time mistaken for the PAMP bar, but the nude is facing the other direction. All PAMP produced Art Bars sell for a premium, some considerably more, above spot.

At least in my case, avatars don't necessarily represent the view of the profile. image
