I'm almost certain Slabbed is happier after a Mets loss than a win.

I saw the thread bumped and was excited for another Mets win. Of course that was before I saw who bumped it and my hopes were dashed lol.

Slabbed ... you have the wrong number listed. I just called it and it's the office of "Flowing Insurance".

Nice come from behind win tonight. Good to see Granderson's avg creeping back up.

Boggles the mind with the inability and unwillingness to build a bullpen. I don't need to look at Kyle Farnsworth's baseball card to know he has no business pitching the ninth inning in NY. Jose Valverde the same. This is a team, for all of Alderson's experience, gave their biggest pre Granderson free agent deal to Frank Francisco? Um, who? and how did that turn out? Yet, they let Latroy Hawkins walk for peanuts after learning first hand that maturity had treated him well and he was a solid influence in the clubhouse to boot... Amazing my tookus.

Last I looked, the Mets had the 10th highest revenue (in spite of sabotaging the team for a half decade) and the 22nd payroll. Yet the Wilpons cry that people aren't coming to the park. Newsflash guys, I was a season ticket holder for years both personally and through business. When you run a payroll under 60% of what it was six years ago, in an era of exploding revenue, you aren't getting real money from me ever again.

Kills me as they have been my live and die favorite sports team since 1973...

Its funny, because they never stop trying to get me back (and im sure the rest of the former full season holders) and offer near stuff every year, so I am going on Wednesday to the only game I will attend this year. Remember when it wasn't possible to get a subway series ticket or you had to at least buy one of their six packs?

Where's slabbed celebrating another come from behind win??

Man, that porch is short in the Bronx--looks like little league next to cavernous Citi Field.

Familia should be closing soon. Starting pitching has been decent--Gee and Niese have both emerged as viable options this season. If we can start hitting, and stay close in a tight NL East...I know that's what slabbed is hoping for, right? image

Seems it has been that way for years. Hopefully they figure it out soon because there is nothing worse than blowing late leads.

    Have fun Wednesday's game!

Heck, I remember being just as happy that Neil Allen was gone as I was that Keith Hernandez was coming and that says it all.

Here is an image for fellow fans. John Franco pitching to Marc Whitten. Didn't matter what uniform he had on. Ball one. Ball two. Gone, goodbye.

Just the whole counting pennies thing. Who holds back prospects for fear of super two that aren't named Trout or Harper? The Mets held back Montero for God's sake. I mean if he is so good you are scared he's going to make money in 2017, why wait until now to call him up?
Yes, the starting pitching has been really good, but again as a Met's fan, you know what comes next: Starters start to pitch too fine, try too hard and go too long and get hurt or hit a wall, unless the pen is fixed. Mejia is and always has been a no brainer 8th or 9th inning guy. at 60-70 pitches (3rd time thorough) he goes from unhittable to implosion.

Will still live and die with them every day, just been hard the last five years. More so than the days of Dave Kingman and the midnight massacre (with Seaver), which says it all.

Impressive win tonight--3 straight now and just 1 game out of wildcard. Grandy starting to get it together now, too.

Granderson has increased his avg 20 pts in the last two games. 2 hr, 5 rbi's. Ya think he likes Yankee stadium? lol

Also Murphy is swinging a good bat. 320 avg to lead the team.

I was thinking that as well haha. Can they seriously do that though? Who decides on the park dimensions?

edit: I know they were moved in once before but I have no idea about the process to do it. Not the physical aspect of course.

I'm not certain, but I think it really depends on what ownership decides though I'm sure there are some standards.

I remember at old Shea...straightaway center 410 ft. That was a bomb to hit it over that fence.

Reminded me a bit of Lincecum...

On a serious note, the complete lack of class continues from the email letters, to the Farnsworth thing this week. No giant loss, but a terrible way to treat someone (after already cutting him this spring to avoid a 100k roster bonus, then resigning him already) and really, was a 3.18 era the weak link in the pen? Matsusaka has about zero utility as a reliever, but they have always been drawn to the potential asian market sales.

  • 4 wins 10 losses in the last 14 games. Oh by the way anybody want to buy Wilpons brother in laws share of the Mets hear he wants out. Gee wonder Why?
  • To the Wilpons please hire baseball people to run this team we are so sick of Sam Sham and the Pharo's. You have a complete mess on your hands, New Yorkers deserve better.

Unfortunately, the Wilpons aren't members of the board.

On the bright side, we definitely have starting pitching depth. image
