My teeth kinda suck. Gums, actually. Inherited from my mom, who'd lost most of her teeth by the time she was 50. And yes, I use a sonicare twice a day, floss every day without missing, and rinse with chlorhexidine twice a day. I don't drink sugary drinks, and don't do sweets very often.
And even with all of that, I have to get my teeth scaled and planed every 3 months. If you've ever had it done, you know how bad a quarterly S&P would be. If you've never had it done: Imagine someone digging scalding ice picks into your gums for an hour and a half every few months.
So despite that, or maybe because of that, and because of who I am, I determined to take control of my teeth the way I want whenever I get that opportunity. And I've had two opportunities in the last eight years...
Got a crown yesterday morning. That makes two crowns, both of them gold. I'm fortunate my dentist still has a tech who works in gold. Most people want the white porcelain stuff now. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Approximately 8 grams
Talladium CB-77 type II, consisting of 77% gold, 13.1% silver, and 1% palladium

At 77% gold, it would be roughly 18k. But the balance is mostly silver & palladium. So it's like 18k on steroids
Figure about 1/4 of an ounce of 18k. So somewhere around $250 worth of gold.
