Another disappointing eBay listing that could lead to fake unopened product

First wrappers and gum, then rack pack headers, and now wax tray sleeves. The asking prices on these listings makes clear that the seller realizes there is much more than novelty value associated with the products...

Empty 1979 Topps Wax Tray Sleeves

Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.

What a shameful ex board member. Honestly he's just a horrible person....
  • So I guess people can't sell cards either as that will lead to fake unopened product?

I think the average is about a thread per week on that particular seller. Gum, trays, wrappers, etc. image

agreed, sad... That is why if I rip something, the whole package gets destroyed.

Obvious issues aside, isn't that a terrible price on those? It's one of the supplies needed, but you would still need to fake 3 packs to use the tray. So it's the extra work wrapping the tray, plus another $10 for each. You also need to fake 6 trays to use all of them from this auction. The whole things seems like so much work for what you would get back. It would worth it for a 77 tray or below, but not '79. Just a thought.

    One of his negative feedbacks:

"Item description promised brown packing tape. Inferior clear tape substituted."

I believe that one was from a forum member...
  • When I first got here, I respected his opinions on many things, especially grading and things of that nature. And the one bubblegum incident I thought maybe was a fluke or just jonesing for a few extra bucks. But it has been persistent and now, well its unfortunate.

I agree it is very unfortunate that he continues to engage in these types of auctions. He probably figures what the heck now since he isn't allowed to reveal himself on these boards anymore.

Make no mistake, this isn't a classic case of selling one's soul to the devil for a few bucks; this is him extending his middle finger in hopes that everyone will see.

But then again, when you no longer have a platform to prance around like a sanctimonious douche, the burn intensifies.

I wonder if ebay allows wax tray sleeves and gum to be sold. Doesn't seem like it.

    Not allowed:
Accessories or packaging without the accompanying product.

    Examples include:
    Dust bags
Plastic tags (including a tag with a serial number)
    Ribbons
    Tissue paper
Box for a branded watch without the accompanying watch
Empty jewelry pouch, tin, or other container that may be used to hold and sell a similar or identical product
Warranty or certificate (blank, valid, or expired) without the accompanying product

Looks like Paul did the right thing before eBay did and ended the listings.

If that's not an oxymoron I'm not sure what is
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.
