A Perfect Coin from the CRO Archives

After receiving the CRO early bird email this morning, I decided to once again peruse the CRO website and in particular the archives section.
Oh, how the heart flutters at seeing such beauty! For those who have never visited (perhaps a few here?), you simply must go and see coins like this:
Of the many incredible specimens there, I chose the above to post here (and hope John doesn't mind) because it is a glorious representation of a type coin so beloved by many as one of the classic design greats of all time.

Well, for one thing, clad doesn't tone like that.

Mainly because coins are designed by committee and must be PC and sell something (for the most part). That is a well struck coin.... Cheers, RickO
Should "CRO Archive" carry the same weight as a plate coin?

answer: Needs time to tone.
It is almost enough to interest me in colonials.
<< <i>I never received this Early Bird email >>
I have the opposite problem ... I got it but don't got no cash.
I think there are 207 coins on the CRO Archives page.
<< <i>There are a number of beautifully toned coins in the CRO archives. I wish more dealers would maintain an archive as well. >>
I agree. It's nice to have good and easy-to-navigate archives. Given the quality of CRO's coins, it would be nice if all their sold coins were in their archive
<< <i>Here's my CRO archive coin...always happy to post it.

That's a gorgeous Hawaiian quarter!
Thanks for bringing back an old friend to visit with.

If a man is in love and visits CRO's joint…. he will find things which could jeopardize his relationship if he tries to sneak around.
I just cruised a few of the coins on your link. MAN! Museum quality? The Museums wish!!

That IS modern coinage--just not current coinage.

I originally found the OP example for etexmike's now defunct type set and coinlieutenant's example was formally in my personal non error 20th century type set
Thanks for the post Catbert since I haven't been able to find a SLQ to buy in 6 months (not for the lack of trying) it was nice seeing both of these!
Resurrecting a 3 year old thread of mine since I was once again viewing the archive. So much eye candy and I see that the SLQ is no longer displayed @Broadstruck you've got to find one of equal caliber for me someday.
However my colorful Frankie is there and am glad to see it alongside other lovelies (until John replaces it)!

I have the fortunate luck to have one of their early gold coins from the archive dept. Didn't purchase the coin directly from them, but from someone who acquired the coin post-CRO stint. Fabulous photography work on their part. I think Todd did a pretty bang-up job too... Merry Christmas all.
I love that early $5.
My only current archive coin. I've owned a couple other ones, and they've all been highlights.
Here is mine that graces their archives:
