Thinking of Making my first gold purchase..........

Hello, Merry Christmas.
I am thinking of making my first 1oz golden eagle purchase. Your thoughts on a pcgs slabbed 1 oz golden eagle, or a new uncertified golden eagle. This is strickly for investment terms.
thanks.

Personally, I would recommend the bullion, unless you want to go the rare coin route - then that goes beyond gold melt value, often by a long way. Collector values can rise and fall, much like bullion values.... but depending on rarity, can be much more stable than bullion. Many variables here.... I am sure there will be a great deal of advice coming soon on this thread....Cheers, RickO

gold eagle is an excellent choice. If buying strictly for bullion value consider a certified MS69 - not much more cost than raw yet it is certified as authentic.

Also, what is the best place to purchase a certified one?

100% agree. not the "w" either, straight MS-69 PCGS 1 oz eagles. can't go wrong.

Sadly with all the coin and slab fakes in the market, I would stay off Ebay until you learn more about what you are buying.

I would make the first buy from either Heritage or David Lawrence. Both move a lot of bullion type stuff at close margins and would provide a better layer of protection until you have some more experience.

I'd be a little bid more patient before making any gold purchase. Trying to catch a "falling knife" can be painful. Cash is KING.

A 2013-W Proof AGE from the Mint, in original gov't packaging with certificate. Several factors would support this choice.

True, but we have 4 times as many Kings in the money supply as we did in 2008!

Buy 1oz AGE no more than $60 over. I usually can get better buys at coin shows but timing/market don't always fall on coin show weekendimage

Get one, feel REAL money GOLD in your handsimage You jus may keep on stacking them AGE's!image

Gold is on sale today, 20% to 35% off. Not bad, not bad at all.
