I can buy rolls for $420 locally currently, they aren't 2013's though. Just for comparison

    OK I'll bite....How does 224 for 10 beat 448 for a roll????????

I better have another cup of coffee. When I do the math your paying 27 plus for the first 8 and then they will throw in two for free??????? Marketing is wonderful.......

    Happy Holidays

It's just worded weird. Going by the description, it is 10 of them so not a bad price imo.

Just for some clarity because people seem to think I am selling solid date BU rolls for $420...

$420 is what I can BUY them for, which is what this thread is about...BUYING, not selling. They are mixed dates "rolls" (which is all I said) thoroughly searched for '96's.

I think I am reading it wrong. I think they consider a "ten pack" as 8 + 2. So, not a terrible deal but certainly not like getting two "free" when they can be had other places for the same price or cheaper.

    Just read the entire description...

"This listing is for ten (10) 2013 Silver American Eagles. Multiple orders will come in multiples of ten coins."

I asked them just to clarify, awaiting response.

That's a lot cheaper than locally here. I would pounce on that price.

It's easy to buy them for that, it's selling them on here, even a place like this with no fees, and having to pay for the shipping is what's hard. People think they're damaged goods and wont pay near the premium, when they still are very, very nice coins, or should I say 1 oz silver rounds lol. Just happened to be mixed dates and searched. Picky picky people when it comes to this.

10 coins for the Buy It Now price includes the two free ones. A very good price.

Thanks for the heads up Matteo. Got my weekly dosage.

Why do sellers confuse people? You are not getting anything free. You are getting 10 coins for $223.99.

Buyers (especially my wife the coupon queen) love the word "free." You're getting free shipping (and most likely a free coin tube if you buy two lots).

If you buy 2 lots you will get a mint tube/roll. The listing seems a little ambiguous, but my take is if you buy 8 lots of 10 that you will get 4 rolls in mint tubes and 2 extra coins in flips.

Clear enough, could have been more clear. From the description:

"This listing is for ten (10) 2013 Silver American Eagles. Multiple orders will come in multiples of ten coins."

two lots will equal 20 coins. Having dealt with APMEX on many of these specials, I expect they will deliver two lots of 10 coins in a mint tube. Saves them flips and the time to put them in flips.

Either way, I picked up 10 myself. I was only looking for 7(5 to complete a 2013 tube, 2 for albums) but this works as well.

listing could be clearer but it's clear enough: for every lot of eight coins that you buy, you will get two free coins. Let's not make it any more confusing than it already appears to be to some viewers.

I don't see any confusion in the dealers listing, but then I do read English.

"Free Silver! Get 2 Free 2013 Silver Eagles when you buy 8 - and Free Shipping!"

that's about $3.00 over spot with free s&h.
Good deal for 2013 ASE's, but I'm all "silvered out."

Well it confused quite a few people so good for you for being so smart.
At first glimpse it looks like you get "2 free Silver Eagles" when you purchase eight lots. It can be interpreted two ways depending on how you read it.

I don't think this part of the description needs interpretation: "This listing is for ten (10) 2013 Silver American Eagles. Multiple orders will come in multiples of ten coins."

14 boxes sold thus far, they must be making room for the 2014's.

They are saying the "regular" price for an ASE is $27.95. image Heck of a price with spot at $19.42.
  • bronco2078bronco2078 Posts: 10,226 ✭✭✭✭✭

The regular price looks high but thats for 1 paid for with paypal with free shipping. On more expensive items they roll the overhead in also but the prices arent so terrible.

For instance from APMEX .com 120 cash price shipping is extra

From APMEX via Ebay 124 for paypal free shipping

on the 10 franc if you only want 1 ebay is a better deal . If you want 10 or 20 go to APMEX .com and pay cash.

I looked for the 10 ASE's deal on APMEX and couldn't find it to compare directly.

Agreed. And I understood once I read it but still think APMEX confused some folks with their marketing strategy. Just state 10 ASE's for $whatever.... It is still a good price, no need for the stupid ploy in my opinion.

    oooh secret handshake??

"wood chuck to grey squirrel...come in grey squirrel"

Your lucky to find painted ladies at $1.50 over spot.

-400+ more lots sold since my 5:22 post---if only they had knew what you knew - they are all over paying $1+ per oz...ouch

"It's easy to buy them for that" I am shocked your not cashing in? Your always bleating about big profits on your 5 oz bars?

You said mixed dates? Those go for a slight premium over 2013 rolls. $460-$70 shipped all day..right here..no fees. I will pay $460 right now.

$35-40 a roll profit just waiting! I guess that is pocket lint for a high roller like you though.

For those playing along at home...jump on the APMEX deal...it is the strongest price I have seen.

    8 rolls or eight coins?

I asked them: "I bought 10 lots, will I be getting two free coins with each lot?" Their reply: "Yes, you will be receiving 100 coins. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you and have a great day."
