8 rolls or eight coins?
I asked them: "I bought 10 lots, will I be getting two free coins with each lot?" Their reply: "Yes, you will be receiving 100 coins. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you and have a great day." >>
I asked again, this time changing the wording. Received a different person and of course, a different response. Here it is
"Thank you for your response. No, each lot includes 8 plus 2 free 2013 1 ounce American Silver Eagles. I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns. "
Absolute madness, all to save a miniscule amount. But I suppose if you do volume, it's worth it. I've never seen such confusion, I thought this place was all made up of scholars that can do simple arithmetic lol, just kidding.
To forgive is to free a prisoner, and to discover that prisoner was you.
72 monster boxes later: "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

I wonder how that tactic would go over at your local supermarket with a 10 pound bag of taters normally marked at $3.99 being displayed as 5 pounds for $7.98 and you get 5 pounds free?
derryb nailed it - the price here is cheaper than if you ordered a monster box. Not to mention the extra benefit of using a credit card that offers some form of cash back.
Yes, it's amazing what some people will do to save a few percent.
Based on APMEX regular price this is what you would pay for ASEs at $16.40 silver.

That equates to a monster box price of $11,200 delivered. As of 6 pm my time CST, the cheapest price for 500 2013 ASEs per goldshark was $11,385 and the highest of 13 listed was $13050 and whatever shipping might apply.
This is a pretty decent price, but by no means a "great deal". Anyone who thinks they are really getting two free ASEs out of the 10 needs to work on their math.
Buying all 10 at their list price of $224 comes out to 22.40 per coin, shipped which is a premium of $2.90 per coin. I think $3 is a pretty standard premium on ASEs so this is a pretty flat deal.
Now if you actually buy into the wording that you are buying 8 for $224 (and getting two free), then for the coins you are paying for that is $28 per coin or a premium of $8.50 per coin! Aahhh marketing.

2.90 premium for an ASE delivered is a great deal. The only math that matters is 2.90 over spot. As pointed out earlier this is cheaper than if you were to buy them by the 500 coin box.
Let me know when you find one cheaper.

I think most people finally came to that realization. They could have just as well said buy 5 for $44.80 each and get 5 free. No matter how you slice it you got 10 coins for $224 delivered which is a very good price considering they paid for shipping and took a CC/PP to boot. 50 lots would have gotten you a monster box for $11,200 when nobody else was even close. At this moment JMBullion wants $464 extra if you buy a monster box and pay with a CC. So all things considered, that was quite a nice deal.
APMEX obviously wanted to get those 72 green boxes out of inventory quickly. Good chance they lost money after fees and shipping. Don't forget they pay a premium to their supplier who also pays a premium to the mint.

Or even better, buy one for $215 delivered, and get 9 more for just $1 each! Wait! How about don't buy any, just pay shipping of $224, and get 10 free!
any way, yes a good deal at the time for ASEs gimmicks or no
two orders, two different tracking numbers received
update: both shipments received, one day apart. delivered in full mint tubes

Same here. Excellent packaging. I only got 10 but they came in a tube which was awesome since I could combine it with the other misc 2013 ones I had. It came in a little Ampex padded foam box which I also thought was neat and kept it to use in the future.

As of right now, 16 rolls given away free. >>
16 rolls free? That's 320 coins at $27.95/each! APMEX just gave away $8,944.00 in ASE.
Fun to follow this anyways......... >>
Slight correction: not every 8 lots sold necessarily generated 2 free ASEs as not everyone ordered 8 lots.
