1999-W $10 NGC MS69 WITH W MINT ERROR BURNISHED GOLD EAGLE

Tried to edumacate him on the burnished AGEs not being struck until the 2006 W business strikes. Replied back that he knew more than me because he had more feedback. image

Some folks just could not appreciate what you share with them thinking that somebody always wants to one up them or something.

And I was polite about it as I always try to help fellow ebayers.

I have ten times the feedback of the seller in question and did not know the year that the mint began the burnished strikes. That info would have been appreciated if another Ebay member had shared it.

BTW...if I designation is not on a holder, I generally do not mention it. Especially when it a series outside of my bailiwick.

I've heard the burnished term before on unfinished proof dies, which is what makes this coin I believe.

edited to kill my spell checker.

The US mint began using burnished gold blanks in 2006 to strike the first year of the W Uncirculated (business strike/collector coins) Eagles. The W mintmark on the $5 and $10 1999 gold eagle (a non-burnished blank) is the result of using 1999 unpolished proof dies on normal AGE blanks to produce bullion business strike coins.

That's funny, I am a handful shy of 3500 feedbacks and when someone lets me know something I am doing wrong I thank them profusely.

If they don't know what they're talking about, it doesn't matter how many feedbacks they have.
