What an incredibly nice gesture, Mike. If it's still available, I'll bid $35 on the '79 cello.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
<< <i>No offense has it been verified this true and this is not like the guy who died that one time? >>
Given some of the stuff people have pulled on this board the question is perfectly understandable and no offense taken. Unfortunately I can verify this is 1000% true. He had cancer 4 years ago and went thru months of chemo, and even with insurance was buried in bills. The cancer has recently recurred and the treatment is even more extensive this time around. He can use all the help he can get (money, prayers, good thoughts, whatever you can give) and is incredibly deserving- truly one of the best guys I"ve ever met.

Gents...I'm in. I'm putting up for bid a sealed box of 1993 Topps Series 1 Baseball with a possible Jeter rookie inside. Pay Mike (Stone) and PM me your address and I will ship it to you. Bidding starts at $10.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I would like to contribute this 81T (baseball) vending box. Same protocol -- $ to Mike, and I'll take care of the rest. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
As Mike and Anthony have attested to, this individual is having serious problems. He also is a personal friend of mine and everything that has been said is legit....100% guaranteed.

For anyone that has any concerns about the legitimacy of this endeavor, I will vouch for Mike's efforts and the cause and will personally back any donations. Bid with trust that the proceeds will go to the proper person and that he really does need all of the support that we can offer.
Accordingly, I would like to add to lots to the auction:
1933 Goudey #89 Tris Speaker VG/EX condition:
(2) PSA 9 MINT 1990 Score #439 Martin Brodeur rookies (1 each American and Canadian version):
four each of 1989 Topps Big series one and series two. This is what I can fit into a priority box. Shipping is on me. The cause is better than the card. I have gotten $15-$20 a box on eBay though.
Great news on the AH, and good choice on extending, should give many more a chance to participate. I'll throw up a couple of boxes. Same deal - pay Mike, PM me with addy. Unfortunately empty, but still fun for display:
Mike, you've done an incredible gesture creating this auction, as has everyone that has participated. But can I ask one favor? This thread is growing fast and it is getting harder to keep track of bidding, any chance you can add the high bidders name to the bid list when you update it? Would hate to think someone hadn't bid because they thought they were the high bidder only to find out after the auction they weren't, ultimately depriving our friend of much needed relief.

As a longtime forum member, I too will add that this is unfortunately a legitimate donation. I say unfortunately because I wish the recipient wasn't battling cancer. I'll add the following to the auction. The 1956s are all nice for the grade and were submitted as PSA 8 candidates (even the 6 looks 8 worthy).

Sure Tony - please do!
Thanx.

Good question.
I know this person - who would be too proud to encourage me to do this - and as many know - long term cancer can bankrupt a family.
If, for any reason, I do something on our forum that goes south?
I will make good for every dime that's in play.

Just got an email from an AH.
They saw the thread and offered $500 for the 78T cello!
I asked if I can mention who? If I get the go - I'll post it.

It's definitely a great cause, and he's truly one of the "good guys" in our hobby and on the CU message boards.
I've already contributed through a different auction for him, but I'll add in an item to this one too.
Put me down for a factory sealed 1994 Upper Deck SP Football wax box. Same terms as the others ... pay Mike and I'll ship it out.
