My average seems to be about 6 to 7 per day. I started in early May 2010 and might hit 10,000 by May 2014 or shortly thereafter. We will see...

    Diarrhea of the keyboard.
I like large size currency and silver dollars.

  • It may just be me but it seems as though there happens to be a great amount of contradictions and mixed signals here.

Complaints were made in the other thread by some that they are sick and tired of new members not contributing to the community. Those contributions could be as simple as just commenting positively on 5 different coins that are posted by others. That can add up quick. Then add to that a post or two of their own coins. Maybe throw in a couple of replies to a thread on a different subject matter.

Now it seems that you don't want newer members to contribute or maybe you just want them to curb their contributions.

    Which is it?

Inquiring minds want to know. image

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

  • << <i>Contributions aren't measured by the number of posts you have... there is zero correlation between post count and quality of posts. >>

That cliche may be entirely true but answer this for me please; why would someone complimenting another forum member on a coin they posted not count as a quality post?

Would it be better considered quality if they dogged the coin out? These are serious questions I am asking an not trying to be a Smart A**.

  • How would a post about a coin for possible purchase not be a quality post and a learning experience. From my reading of many older posts on coins I have seen this very thing done and those posts go over the positives and negatives of the coin. In some instances rare errors, type coins etc have been noticed when the OP has not noticed them. That is where a person who has more experience can chime in and help with the decision to purchase or not to purchase. As an example lets say an expert in large cents sees a Morgan with an apparent VAM but is not versed in VAMs ask about that VAM. Are you stating that questions like that should not be asked?

  • In the words o Ronald Regan to Jimmy Carter; "Well ... there you go again".

You are once again contradicting your self. You have stated that these forums are here to 'Help People' and I agree. Google is also available to help people. So is Wikipedia, etc... You get the picture.

But when someone comes for some help, on a coin forum that exists to allow others to offer help, you naturally assume it is a hand out.

Maybe they did Google it and came up with this forum. Happens all the time.

I just really think you should reconsider your entire platform since it is very convoluted.

I guess I will await my PM now ... image

  • Wow! The PM was quick. I figure it will be along the lines of lostcoins so I will just save my self the heartburn and I am trashing it.

In the past, when there was an Open Forum, it was very easy as there were many people that would go there and hang out and things would fly fast and crazy. That's probably a good portion of my post count.
Since then, while I read most threads/posts, I don't respond as much. I probably post 1-2 dozen times a month now. I do a lot more in PMs with people I know and have met/like than posting a lot of the time.

Now, for the last few years, anyone posting hundreds of times in a month....well, if you read their posts, you will get the gist.....and, often, they end up flaming out and leaving.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I do find it curious that two days after "Coin299" is banned for a libelous post that "Crustygold" emerges with nearly identical BST post on buying original gold.

When the Open Forum was still in business, some members would carry on entire conversations in a single thread. They could produce 100+ posts per day.
