ebay link Seems like this seller has sold quite a bit of these which makes me wonder? how do you know what rolls are actually real and which ones are fake?
I didn't think you could make the buyer pay for insurance. I was under the impression, maybe wrongly, that insurance is to protect the seller and the buyer is protected by Ebay and therefore, the seller buys his own insurance?

That's the most expensive wrapping paper I've ever seen.
Reminds me of the other timeless classic: "BUY THE COIN, NOT THE HOLDER."

When goods increase, they increase who eat them -- so what profit have the owners, except to see them with their eyes?"

Thanks for the information. I was unaware that you could make the buyer pay for the seller's insurance. The insurance listed above is still to protect the seller, is it not? The buyer appears to only be covered by eBay Buyer Protection. I could be wrong. I just want to understand the policy a little better and I did not intend to hijack the thread. My apologies.
We don't offer an insurance program. However, if you don't receive an item you paid for, you can receive a refund of the purchase price plus original shipping on eligible purchases through eBay Buyer Protection.
If you didn't receive an item you paid for, open a case in the Resolution Center. We'll ask you a few questions and then contact the seller. If the seller doesn't make things right, we'll review the case. If you didn't receive an item you paid for, you'll usually receive a refund plus original shipping costs. Link
As for the item being offered, I'll pass. Ebay is becoming more of a schemer's paradise.

<< <i>a seller can carge what ever they want for shipping and handling. >>
that is not correct. it is against ebay policy to charge an exorbitant amount for shipping. i'm not saying this qualifies but there is a policy against overcharging.
well, in all actuality, yes they can post it and charge it but it is in violation. also a buyer can pay it and a transaction complete positively. .
Legitimate in as much as the competition is stiff. Legitimate in the sense that people are getting a roll of silver dollars. Put together rolls are absolutely legitimate, possible and unless it's opened, I wouldn't know what else to call it except risky.
You have to admit that they did a nice job of aging the paper on the roll.
But no, given the look of the end of the roll coins, which should be darker IMO, I'd say that this is a fabrication.

That's okay. eBay is so heavily skewed towards buyers it's not surprising it would seem unlikely to be so. But it is.

Of course it is.
