Show us your favorite Barber coin - Nickel, Dime, Quarter or Half. Makes no difference the grade

MFHMFH Posts: 11,720 ✭✭✭✭

The Barber series is one of my favorites and there has been two Barber Image Threads which have gotten too unwieldy.
Its time for the members here to post their ONE favorite Barber - makes no difference which denomination it is - makes
no difference what grade its in - as long as its your FAVORITE - and - please - tell us why you chose that coin over
the others in your collection.

I have owned quite a few coins that were considerably nicer than what I currently own - but I still hold dear one coin that was
once the Queller Collection coin - and previously graded by NGC - as a MS 65 Star - and had a devil of a time to get it to cross
here - first - it came back as a 64 - resubmitted again and again and each time, it came back as a 64. When the Secure Plus holders
were first introduced - I said - its now or never - and I did receive an upgrade to a 64+. The coin was sent to CAC and they approved
it with a Green Bean [ hoped for a Gold, I'm always the optimist ] .... the image was taken before it was sent to CAC.
....so that's my story as to my favorite Barber .... what's yours ?

I think you can see why it's my favorite.

I loved the looks of this Barber quarter from the time I laid eyes on it. It is graded PR-64, and looks better to me than some coins I've seen graded two points higher.

Awesome thread, Mike. I have some of my grandfathers' old Barbers and some coins we bought together that have a great deal of personal sentimental value, but in terms of the Barber I like to look at the most, it's below. Wish my pics could do a better job of showing just how much luster is left. Certainly not for everyone, but a coin that I really enjoy.....

Its with sadness that I report - via my old Mega Thread - that our friend Walt Kennedy
    is retiring his Quarter Collection.

I have yet to speak with him - but I would assume he will be selling off his coins to his Barber
fraternity brothers who have helped him so often along the way ... I have my eyes on a couple
of his beautiful coins - and to be honest - I'd be thrilled to be able to buy a few of them.

    Good Luck Walt !!

This was always one of my favorite Barbers!

Almost always known for head designs a lot of folks are surprised to learn the Pan Pac obverse was designed by Charles. The reverse with that eagle is of course G. Morgan. image

I think that is first time I've seen an otherwise Choice Mint State coin with a hole in it. I do have some Gem quality political tokens, but they were issued with the hole.

I don't have a ton of Barbers, but this one really stood out to me. The toning is particularly nice. When you pull it out of the box it's one of those that just makes you say "Wow" every time. It's hard to imagine improving on this one:
