1990 Topps Case

I have an opportunity to pick up a sealed 1990 Topps case. Whats the going rate? Whats the market price right now? I am prepared to go around $100. Is that too much? The only thing of value is the Thomas rookie. And the potential of the blank name version.

    Your offer seems fair

The last time Steve had one, he was selling it for $165. Be careful, those 1990 wax cases have VERY weak glue and are likely to "pop" during transit.

Gotcha. Well, I low balled it because quite frankly its junk wax. But 1990, especially in case form, are not as easy to pick up as the surrounding years. I am sure its being hoarded for some reason, but for Topps between 87 and 92, this seems the least available.

He also had a few other items I am trying to get a quantity price on. Hopefully he nods in my favor.
  • I think I paid $165 for mine, high grade cards are in high demand. I opened seven boxes put the rest under the house it's sad when the design on the back of the card is better than the front.

  • The Swell Baseball greats sell for $18-30 per box on ebay (delivered).

If interested in selling, this could work out.

  • I believe those are 1988 Topps big? I'd grab the first series case if the price is right (Ryan,Ripken,Schmidt).

Topps Big is not hot these days but you don't see it by the case much anymore and I still believe it has
    long-term potential.

Too bad he doesn't have 1991 Topps. Getting damn hard to find that by the case.

I've paid $150 for 1990. So if you can get it for $100 then NIKE!

  • This guy who owns the boxes thought he was probably going to be a millionaire by now. lol

I would grab a few boxes and save them for a rainy day. Ive always like 1988 score baseball. Nice cards with nice colors.

I did purchase a case of 1990 Topps that I purchased from BBCE about this time last year and let me just say that it was a lot of work. No NNOF Frank Thomas. After doing a little more research from different sites along with helpful members, I already knew about a quarter into that thing that it wasn't going to be in my box which made the ripping even more brutal.

If he has a case of 91 Donruss or later yeards, I would grab one and just have fun trying to pull an elite card. Ive never pulled one and I have opened about 15 boxes or more. I even was bored last night and ripped open 6 boxes and nothing. Damn near impossible that I can believe they go for so cheap today, or at least cheaper than when they first came out.
