8/16/13 Metal Porn Thread

I bought, and sold quite a bit this week. Even dug out some Morgan/Peace Dollars that were buried in the basement of the safe and sold them, but this is one thing I came across this week that I am keeping, nearly completely paid for with the profits from flipping all the other stuff. Hey...a mans gotta have a plan, right? image
What did any of you buy that you're keeping this past week?

Love the Sovereigns, trozau! First gold coin I have ever known thanks to by dad. They were (and still are) very popular in Italy back in the days.
I have just received a 2010 Quarter (bullion) for my set. Too difficult taking pictures of it! image

Those 1/4Sov sure are small. 2009 is the first year the BRM issued them. I don't believe there ever were circulating 1/4Sov. image

They are damn small and pricey! But the fact that the series started in 2009 made me interested in having the chance to own the complete series.
The same my dad did in 2000 when the Royal Mint resumed the production of the bullion Sovereigns.

Only this for me this week... and even though I'm not exactly sure what it's really worth, I thought it was too cool to pass up:

The bar does weigh a troy ounce and it's 1 and 5/8 inches by 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch in size.

I haven't participated in awhile, but here are some keepers for the week....

And an APMEX purchase in addition to the ASE deal....

    image

Edited to add: Plus I added two of the most (of what I believe to be) beautiful Washington Quarters to the collection. Wouldn't exactly call them bullion, but happy just the same to add them this week!

busy week. 100 ebay special APMEX ASEs, 6 $50 AGEs from the mint, 1 ebay $50 gold buffalo, 8 ebay $10 AGEs, and 2 MCM $50 AGEs.

and the biggie was one $4110 ebay refund for a package that arrived empty.

I'm now tapped out, taking next week off.

No pic, hasn't all arrived. Besides it's all mint bullion, not sexy like earlier glamour pics posted.

Britannias have beautiful designs (specially those by Philip Nathan). Did your sets have different Britannia designs? My 2009 Sovereign proof set is also the second for me. The other I have is a 4-coin proof set from 1991.

Since I've been slacking on pics while I lost my camera battery charger (under a book on my messyass desk, right where I left it, sigh), here's the summer so far.

    image

NTR 10oz was this week along with a CBH not pictured.

10 sunshine ozers, 2 rolls 2012 Takus from the April drop, 10oz kook, 1/4 kangaroo.

Still working on my roll projects of CBH (1/4 through) and seated halfs (1/2 through), but I imagine those will be slow-goers.
