Opened up one pack of 1991 Topps Desert Shield..Results . Any others worthy of submitting? Opinions

Bought a couple of packs of 1991 Topps Desert Shield from ClockworkAngel andI couldn't help myself. I opened one of them. And I am glad I did. Here are the two hits in the pack. Now I am very tempted to open the second one........
Sorry about the pictures. I tried to scan but my scanner sucks. Thank you Clockwork for the easy sale and exchange!

Wow get those things to Newport Beach ASAP! Solid cards! I would also probably keep the other one sealed. You'll never do better than this (unless there's a Ripken in it). image
  • Huge pack! I would rip the other one.
  • I'll be sending these out this month for sure. Still contemplating opening the other, but I'm probably leaving that one alone.

  • I know I could google it, but I'd rather ask the board: what's the deal with these desert shield cards. I work w/ 50s-60s generally and just don't know what these cards are...but I see them all the time.

    Regardless, cards look great Yanksfan!

Topps made a very limited amount of "Desert Shield packs" and they were sent out to the troops in Iraqi right after operation desert storm had started. I don't know if Topps has ever released the production numbers but it's a very low number.

The cards themselves are exactly the same as the regular issued 1991 Topps except for a small gold stamp on the top of the card that says Operation Desert Shield

No issues, just use a misleading title on the Bay: 1991 Topps Desert Shield - Ken Griffey Jr/Junior/Jr's Mariners Dad
  • I'm not very experienced in submitting cards....so I must ask the experts.
Of the other cards in the pack that I pulled, are any of them worth submitting with the Nolan Ryan and Frank Thomas?
